Liverpool transfer news today: Alisson DESIRES another club, Robbo to be REPLACED, Champions League SENSATION wanted
Here's all your transfer news for Friday 29th November 2024.
EXCLUSIVE: Virgil van Dijk is STAYING at Liverpool
Virgil van Dijk is expected to stay at Liverpool with the captain seemingly set for a new contract. His current deal expires in June.
Anfield Watch understands that Virgil van Dijk will be staying with Liverpool. The Dutchman’s agent is currently telling interested parties that he’s no longer attainable.
Van Dijk’s current deal expires in June, of course, but the Reds have been working behind the scenes to tie him down. It now appears they’ve done that.
Liverpool handed INCREDIBLE Martin Zubimendi double deal update
Manchester City’s visit to Anfield on Sunday is already being touted as the most anticipated game of the season and for good reason.
Liverpool have a chance to go 11 points ahead of the four-time defending Premier League champions, who are viewing the game as the ultimate ‘get-right’ moment as their season is coming apart at the seams.
A significant part of Man City’s problems stems from the season-ending injury Rodri suffered against Arsenal back in September.
As a result, City are looking to plug the Rodri-shaped gap in January with two Liverpool-linked signings.
Liverpool READY to sign 17-year-old SENSATION
Liverpool have had great success in the transfer market in recent years, using their profile as one of the best places for young players to progress their careers to entice some of the brightest talents in the game.
Since Brexit, English clubs have had to adjust their transfer policies. Clubs can no longer strike transfers for foreign players until they are 18 years old.
It means that Liverpool have had to turn their attention to finding the best young British players, and to bringing them in at a young age to either develop into first-team players or to sell them for big profits.
And now Liverpool are looking to repeat the trick by bringing in another 17-year-old who is tipped for the top.
Liverpool linked with GOALSCORING goalkeeping PRODIGY on free transfer
Liverpool are very well stocked in the goalkeeping department at present although changes are likely by the start of next season.
With Giorgi Mamardashvili coming to the club on a permanent basis after his Valencia loan ends, it leaves the future of Alisson Becker and deputy Caoimhin Kelleher in the balance.
Further down the pecking order - and the age ranks - are Vitezslav Jaros and the highly-rated Kornel Miściur but there are signs that sporting director Richard Hughes has one eye on improving the area further.
Alisson DESIRES another club
In an interview with OneFootball, Alisson admitted that he wants to return to his boyhood club, Internacional.
“I watch all of Inter’s games. There is always that feeling of good memories and the desire to wear the Inter shirt again,” Alisson said.
“I have a three-year contract with Liverpool. I don’t think the future is definitive for anyone, but in football, I hope to fulfill my contract here in England and, then, after that… I am open.”
Robbo's £40m replacement NAMED
GIVEMESPORT reports that Liverpool are considering a bid in January for Fulham’s Antonee Robinson.
The American left-back has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, becoming one of the most highly sought-after talents in the Premier League.
At 27 years old, it seems like a move to play European football would be now or never. The report states that Liverpool’s approach would be to see if a formal offer could make Robinson open to a move, before using the player’s desires to get the deal done.
With Robinson’s current deal expiring in summer 2028, Fulham have the high ground. They are reportedly hoping to price Liverpool out of a deal, placing a £40m price tag on the American’s head as they are hell bent on not letting him go mid-season.
Reds want Champions League wonderkid
CaughtOffside are reporting that Liverpool are interested in Club Brugge’s Joel Ordonez.
Despite only being 20 years old, Ordonez has impressed for the Belgian side this season both domestically and in the Champions League, as well as already making four appearances for Ecuador.
The report states that Newcastle United and Aston Villa are both interested in the Ecuadorian, who is reportedly valued at around €30m (around £25m).
Villa come as no surprise as Ordonez played the full 90 minutes when Brugge shut Villa’s attack down on their way to beating the Midlanders 1-0 in the Champions League earlier this month.
