Here's the latest Liverpool transfer news after the winter deadline shut. The Reds may have suitors for Curtis Jones.

Liverpool didn't see any arrivals in the January transfer window and now it's time to focus on the summer. Of course, that's not an easy thing to do.

The Reds need a new sporting director and a new maanger - two people who could wildly change the plans for the transfer window. Still, things are happening in the background, including growing interest in Curtis Jones.

Here's the latest Liverpool transfer news for Friday, February 2nd 2024.

Interest in Curtis Jones

Liverpool may have to be wary of interest in star midfielder Curtis Jones from other Premier League sides this summer, even if an Anfield exit looks incredibly unlikely.

Jones, who joined boyhood club Liverpool at U9 level, was always expected to have a big future on Merseyside and, despite some inconsistent periods, the 23-year-old is currently making good on his lofty potential.

However, Jones' impressive displays have naturally drawn attention from other clubs, with the Daily Mail's Sambi Mokbel claiming that the midfielder is attracting interest from several Premier League sides, especially down south.

Speaking on the It's All Kicking Off podcast, Mokbel said: "Be interesting to see what happens with Curtis Jones in the summer. Again, another really good player but his performances are catching the attention of a number of clubs I’m told."

Liverpool like Beier

Liverpool are said to be targeting Hoffenheim attacker Maximilian Beier with the 21-year-old 'on the list' for the Reds in the summer transfer window.

This isn't the first time that Liverpool have been linked with a move for the exciting German forward, with some reports even suggesting that the club would approach Beier in the January window.

However, that always seemed fanciful, with Liverpool not signing Beier or anyone else in the winter market.

With deadline day having now passed, clubs will already be casting an eye to the summer as they evaluate transfer targets, a situation made more complicated for Liverpool this season by Jurgen Klopp's departure.

But, according to SportBILD (via Sport Witness), Beier is a player interesting the Reds despite uncertainty over the club's next manager, and is said to be 'on the list' of Liverpool's recruitment team.

Amorim instructs agent

Sporting boss Ruben Amorim has instructed his agent over a potential £17m approach from Liverpool. The Reds need a new manager.

Sporting manager Ruben Amorim was one of the first names thrown into the mix when Jurgen Klopp announced he was stepping down as Liverpool boss. Along with Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi, Amorim is one of the most likely candidates to take over.

However, there is a long, long way to go before that happens. Record reports that there has been absolutely no approach whatsoever from Liverpool - nothing to suggest they're about to make Amorim an offer.

On top of that, the Sporting boss has told his agent to ignore any approaches before the season is done. He's focused on his current team and Amorim doesn't want any distractions.
