FOUR Liverpool stars could move to Saudi Arabia
Several Liverpool-linked players have moved to Saudi Arabia over the past couple of years. Since the Saudi Pro League has grown in prominence, top names have been attracted by the blockbuster salaries on offer.
We’ve seen the likes of Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Sadio Mane all decamp for the Kingdom. Even Steven Gerrard had a go; coaching Al-Ettifaq until he parted ways with the club by mutual consent earlier this season.

And the links don’t stop; plenty of interest has been shown in Mohamed Salah for example.

Al-Ittihad made a world-record offer for the Egyptian King in 2023 while Al-Hilal were reported to be desperate to add the forward for their FIFA Club World Cup games starting in June.
It looks like Salah will be staying at Liverpool however with his contract renewed until 2027. But other Liverpool players COULD make the move to Saudi Arabia this summer - meaning the Reds will be flush from added transfer income.
The club in general spend what they make in the market and so if decent fees can be banked from Saudi offers then it frees up Richard Hughes and Arne Slot to identify upgrades.
But who could make the move? Here are four Liverpool players who may end up transferring to the Saudi Pro League this summer.
Darwin Nunez
First and most obviously we can discuss the situation around Darwin Nunez. The 25-year-old striker looks to be living his last days as a Liverpool player with the club now appearing ready to cash in.
Having paid £85m for the Uruguayan in 2022, he hasn’t made the grade. Nunez has started only once in the Premier League in 2025 and offers will be heard in the upcoming transfer window.
Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal were both interested in January and if the circumstances were right he would have left. But their bids fell short of Liverpool’s asking price - said to be £75m.
However that sum could come down this summer with Darwin’s stock even lower. The same two clubs could end up in the mix for Darwin, who is also attracting interest from Atletico Madrid.
Luis Diaz
Liverpool have just endured a contract standoff involving Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah but it never stops. Ibrahima Konate is next at the poker table and after that it will be Luis Diaz.
The 28-year-old is out of contract in 2027 and so far no breakthrough has been reached over a new deal. The Colombian is reported to be seeking a pay rise from £55,000 per week to £150,000 per week - with Liverpool currently holding back on those demands.
Accordingly, he could well be sold with Al-Nassr among the teams linked with his signature. The choice appears stark for Diaz this summer; sign a new contract or be sold.
Saudi billionaire clubs will be on hand to service him with the salary he couldn’t get at Anfield.
Alisson Becker
This one WOULD be a surprise but don’t rule anything out. Liverpool’s goalkeeping position is set for an overhaul this summer with Giorgi Mamardashvili coming in once his Valencia loan deal ends.
The Georgian isn’t coming to sit on the bench either.
The problem for him is Alisson remains in place as Liverpool’s No1.
But he is on a sizeable salary - over £200,000 per week - and at 32 might not have many seasons left in the tank. His injury record has been patch to say the least with Caoimhin Kelleher getting plenty of game time this season.
Liverpool could opt to cash in on Alisson, who was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last year. The options are narrow right now but it could be Al-Ittihad who end up making a move.
A big offer could tempt Liverpool into ending Alisson’s Liverpool career two years before his contract expires.
Diogo Jota
The latest Liverpool name to be linked to Saudi Arabia, it’s been reported this week that several Saudi giants had their eyes on Jota ahead of the summer transfer window.

With a contract until 2027 - and an uncertain injury record - it could be time for Liverpool to cash in on a striker who’s lost his touch of late.
The Reds could consider letting him go for between £40m and £50m - making all their money back having paid £41m to Wolves back in 2020.
