Liverpool’s BIGGEST possible sales this summer

Liverpool could make some serious money this summer. Here are their biggest possible sales.

Liverpool want to overhaul their squad a little over the summer. Yes, this is officially a title-winning squad but there’s a sense that the Reds can achieve even more under Arne Slot.

They just need to give him a squad that suits his playing style, rather than asking him to make the most of Jurgen Klopp’s squad. That involves bringing a good few players in, of course, but also sending some out.

And fortunately, that won’t be a problem. There’s a lot of interest in Liverpool stars right now and that could lead to some genuinely massive sales.

Here are what could be the biggest.

Darwin Nunez (Saudi Pro League)

Anfield Watch exclusively revealed in January that an offer had arrived from Saudi Arabia for Darwin Nunez. Liverpool rejected it, however, as they didn’t want to lose the player mid-season.

But it’s expected that the offer will return once the campaign is done. Al-Hilal are eager to sign Nunez and would want him for the Club World Cup - that could mean a sale happens quite quickly after the season.

We’re talking big money, too. The January offer was for around £70m and Liverpool hope to bag something similar in the summer.

It would be Liverpool’s second-biggest ever sale (though still a ways off the biggest...).

Luis Diaz (Saudi Pro League)

Luis Diaz is an interesting one. Liverpool don’t particularly want to lose Diaz but they’ve struggled in contract talks this season.

If he doesn’t sign a new deal, then the Reds will almost certainly sell him while his value is as high as it is. There’s interest from Saudi Arabia, too, as backed up by Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona also like Diaz but if the Saudi’s come in, it could be another big-money sale from Liverpool. Again, there’s a lot of moving parts here and it’s far from certain, but a real possibility this summer.

Diogo Jota (Saudi Pro League)

We’ll keep the Saudi Pro League train running here. It’s understood that Diogo Jota is now wanted in Saudi Arabia, according to the Telegraph.

There’s been interest in the past, too, and Anfield Watch certainly believes Jota could be sold this summer. It’s less likely than Nunez and Diaz, if only because of the latter's contract situation, but the door is open.

Especially if a mega-money offer arrives on the table. And it might just do that.

There’s also long-standing interest from Arsenal but they do appear to have their eyes on different forwards this summer.

Ibrahima Konate (Paris Saint-Germain)

Ibrahima Konate’s contract enters its final year this summer. Liverpool are very eager to get a new deal done but it’s a complex situation.

For one, Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing him. Konate is from Paris and the club are willing to give him an excellent deal to play there.

Liverpool will need to offer up a lot of money to keep the defender and if they’re unable to, a sale looks certain. We’re hoping this one comes to nothing and Konate commits but there’s a very, very real chance that he departs.

Alisson Becker (Saudi Pro League)

Another major Saudi transfer? There aren’t many links between Alisson and the Saudi Pro League right now but he’s had an offer in the past.

Claudio Taffarel recently confirmed that Alisson has rejected a move to the Middle East once - but it’s an offer that never truly goes away for superstars. Liverpool also complicated the situation last summer by signing Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia.

He’ll properly arrive after this season and he’s made it very clear that he’s not up for being a backup goalkeeper. It’s difficult to believe Liverpool spent £29m on a backup, too.

There is certainly an outcome this summer where Alisson decides to leave the club and Mamardashvili takes over as no.1. It could also be that Liverpool loan the Georgian out again and retain the Brazilian.

Right now, we’re all just waiting to see what happens. Liverpool are prepared for every possibility - that much is clear.

Harvey Elliott (Unknown)

Harvey Elliott has barely featured under Arne Slot this season, playing the equivalent of 2.2 matches in the Premier League if you tally up his minutes. It’s not enough for a brilliantly talented player.

Now, there have been no suggestions that Liverpool are actively looking to sell Elliott. Instead, they appear to be leaving it up to him.

The Daily Mail is the latest to make that claim - Elliott can depart if he wishes. But again, that only happens if Liverpool receive a sizeable fee for one of England’s best young talents.

We do think Elliott will stay but he’ll ceratinly have suitors if he decides to leave for first-team football. Potentially, this is a massive sale but one that would require a few things to fall a certain way to happen.
