Liverpool’s attacking priority heading into the final days of the transfer window appears to be Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle forward, 25, was the subject of a £110m bid from the Reds earlier this summer which was rejected out of hand.

But there is belief that the Merseyside club could be back if the right conditions for a sale are met. Newcastle need not one but TWO replacements and sporting director Richard Hughes will have to get a lot closer to the Geordies’ £150m asking price.

If Isak doesn’t come it’s been suggested that Liverpool could go after a more versatile forward instead.

Liverpool have been linked with Rodrygo

With numbers relatively low in the Reds attack, it might be a good idea for head coach Arne Slot to have at his disposal a player who can cover a few different positions.

Bradley Barcola has been suggested for this role along with Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo. But if the Reds are going to get a deal done for the Brazil then they better get a move on.

That’s because a new report suggests that Madrid have been approached by Saudi Pro League clubs for the 24-year-old.

Rodrygo receives MIND-BLOWING Saudi offer

“An intermediary has informed Madrid in the last few hours that Saudi Arabia would be willing to make a move for Rodrygo, that they would offer 110 million for the transfer and double the player's salary,” the report reads.

“In the club's case, it's the same as always. They leave the decision in Rodrygo's hands, and if so, if he brings 100 million, Madrid would approve and accept.

“What's not clear is whether Rodrygo would agree to go to Saudi Arabia.”

Rodrygo looks set to leave Madrid

Given that Rodrygo is reported to earn around €400k per week at present at the Bernabeu - it means the new deal would be worth around €800k per week to the Brazil international.

However he has already made it known he would be willing to move to the Premier League if he had to leave Madrid this summer.

It’s going to be difficult for Rodrygo to maintain first-team football this season under Xabi Alonso - with several attacking players including Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe ahead of him in the pecking order.
