Liverpool agree to pay €100m for forward after breakthrough in talks
Liverpool are running out of time to complete a deal for Alexander Isak.
A British record transfer for the Newcastle striker has been in the works for a long time now but risks falling down based on a couple of factors.

The Geordies need to acquire TWO new forwards before they would contemplate letting their prized asset leave. And secondly, Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes needs to get closer to Newcastle’s £150m valuation of the Swede.

The Reds were knocked back after submitting a £110m offer to Eddie Howe’s side for Isak and negotiations have been frozen since then.
Rodrygo entourage sounding out interest
Unless the conditions for a sale are satisfied before September 1 when the window closes then Liverpool risk losing out. Having sold Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, Arne Slot’s side already look a little light in attack.
If the indications are that they will miss out on Isak then don’t be surprised if they pull the trigger for a different target. While it’s unlikely to be an out-and-out striker, the Reds could well move for a more versatile option.
Among the names discussed has been Rodrygo Goes, with the 24-year-old sounding out potential interested parties as his Real Madrid future remains unresolved.
Liverpool could pay €100m for Rodrygo
According to a report in Defensa Central, talks between the Brazil international’s entourage and Liverpool have proven fruitful.
And should Liverpool miss out on Isak then they could pay the €100m Real Madrid are demanding for two-time Champions League winner Rodrygo.
“Liverpool is considering a move for Goes if they ultimately fail to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle,” a report reads.
“Rodrygo has truly re-entered Liverpool's orbit after Kia Joorabchian's negotiations. The player's entourage, at Goes's urging, has been looking for alternatives in recent hours to address a possible exit from Madrid.
“[Madrid] has valued Rodrygo at 100 million euros and Anfield could pay that amount.”
Rodrygo has been on Liverpool’s radar since 2019 - when he transferred from Santos to Real Madrid. The Reds had been in the chase for the forward but he ultimately chose Spain.
It’s been a golden spell for Rodrygo in the Spanish capital - although he hasn’t always been first choice. This season he finds himself behind Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and others in Xabi Alonso’s pecking order.

If timikas and Elliott are leaving why arn't we signing Rodrygo anyway
Tsimikas going on loan, no fee, Elliot between £30M & £40M. Guehi - £40M, Isak - £130M, I doubt they'll have another £80M+ for Rodrygo.
