Liverpool have added 10 players to their squad over the course of a record-breaking summer transfer window.

Around £415m has been spent on those new players - although plenty of money was recouped in sales. Arne Slot was successful in his first-ever Premier League season but significant change around the squad was promised regardless.

Sporting director Richard Hughes might feel he could have done with one extra centre-back - and maybe a versatile forward - but the squad is certainly looking healthy heading into the rest of the season. But just how exciting are Liverpool’s summer signings?

Here we rank the incomings based on how excited we are by each.

1. Alexander Isak

We have to put Isak top. This is a statement signing - up there with the acquisition of Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool have signed the third most-expensive player in history - once again establishing their credentials as THE place to be for top players. He is a proven goalscorer - and for some Liverpool fans this signing was beyond even their wildest dreams.

2. Florian Wirtz

The 22-year-old German has endured a somewhat indifferent start to the season - and has now been unburdened from being the most expensive British transfer in history.

Once it clicks for the Bayer Leverkusen legend in possession of the ball - Liverpool will benefit from having one of the top playmakers in world football.

3. Jeremie Frimpong

Last season the right side of the Liverpool lineup was quite predictable. You had Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah stationed on that flank. But with the signing of Frimpong - for only £29.5m - suddenly Liverpool look a lot harder to read.

The Dutchman will give Arne Slot added versatility and flexibility down the right - and has got plenty of goals and assists in him too.

4. Hugo Ekitike

Liverpool took Isak from Newcastle and signed their first-choice to replace the Swede as well. Ekitike, 23, has made a stunning start to life on Merseyside following his £69.5m move from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Given the signings of Wirtz and Isak however he might not always find himself in the “first choice” XI.

5. Milos Kerkez

Arne Slot did not seem convinced by Andy Robertson during his first season in charge - opting to substitute the Scot or else hand the starting shirt to Kostas Tsimikas.

Milos Kerkez - an explosive and attacking left-back should solve one long-term issue for the Reds.

6. Giovanni Leoni

There is much soul searching going on in Italy after all of Serie A’s big club missed out on Parma starlet Leoni. At 18, he is definitely one for the future.

However given that he’s already made 17 appearances at the top level - and is part of Gennaro Gattuso’s Italy squad already - we can see him making a decisive breakthrough.

7. Giorgi Mamardashvili

He might well have to bide his time to find first-team football but there is no doubt that the Georgian will be groomed as the long-term successor to Alisson Becker.

Whether it’s in 2026 or 2027 remains to be seen. But anyone watching Euro 2024 or Valencia in LaLiga last season should be very excited about this man’s potential.

8. Will Wright

Will Wright was the subject of a keen transfer battle between Liverpool and Arsenal - eventually won by the Reds for a fee of £200k. The former Salford striker wanted Liverpool above all else and comes with a significant under-age reputation.

He might not be ready for first-team football straight away but expect him to make an impact for the youth and under-age sides initially.

9. Armin Pecsi

Liverpool were widely seen to have acquired one of the most promising goalkeepers in Europe when sealing a deal for Pecsi from Akademia Puskas.

The 20-year-old maybe could have benefitted from a loan move and we don’t expect to see him in the first team much this season.

10. Freddie Woodman

Definitely the back-up to the back-up goalkeeper, we won’t hold our breath over seeing Woodman between the sticks any time soon. Signed from Preston upon the conclusion of his contract.
