Liverpool’s ULTIMATE show of strength: Morgan Rogers
Liverpool want to show an incredible demonstration of strength to the rest of the Premier League with Morgan Rogers. But can Richard Hughes make it happen?
Liverpool are chasing a big summer this time around. It’s in stark contrast to 2024, of course, where the Reds didn’t really do too much.

Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed from Valencia but has remained there on loan. Federico Chiesa then joined from Juventus but he’s barely featured - around 30 total Premier League minutes this season.
Again, though, things will be different in 2025. Liverpool want to capitalise on their incredible title-winning campaign by upgrading the squad.
This, after all, isn’t Arne Slot’s team. It’s Jurgen Klopp’s and the Dutchman has worked miracles in making it work so well for him.
So what could he do with a squad of his ‘own’? Expectation is sky-high if Liverpool can give him a consistent striker but it appears that’s far from all they want to do.

Liverpool and Morgan Rogers
Fabrizio Romano writes for Give Me Sport that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Morgan Rogers. There’s no real belief that Aston Villa will sell the player - but we’ll see what happens if they miss out on UEFA Champions League football.
The drop in funds might just pressure them into selling the player and Liverpool are waiting to take advantage if so. And that says a lot.
Liverpool’s midfield is incredibly solid, for one thing. It’s essentially the only area of the pitch where the Reds haven’t been linked with upgrades as the solidity and quality there has seen the team to the title.
And yet, Liverpool are looking to spend big on an upgrade. Almost necessarily, in fact.
Rogers, who operates as an attacking midfielder but can play on either wing, would be an absolute luxury signing for Liverpool but it’s one that shows their thinking. They want to show their strength and warn everyone in the Premier League that they’re not taking anything as good enough.
Eight goals and eight assists in the league this season - those are numbers Liverpool would adore and really the only thing they’ve been missing from midfield. If Rogers is available, they’re prepared to spend the money to add it.
