Fabrizio Romano has shared a transfer update on one of Liverpool’s key targets. The Reds should have this one in the bag.

Liverpool have got a few deals in the works right now as they attempt to build an even stronger squad for next season. Richard Hughes has been tasked with boosting pretty much every area of the pitch, in fact.

Jeremie Frimpong is expected to arrive from Bayer Leverkusen. That one appears to be done - the Dutchman passed a medical nearly a week ago now.

And with any luck Florian Wirtz will join him. Wirtz is a truly shocking transfer for Liverpool and will almost certainly be the biggest in their history. English football history, even.

A quick reminder, then, that the transfer window hasn’t even opened. The Reds aren’t wasting any time whatsoever with these deals.

And that’s not even all they’re working on.

Fabrizio Romano on Milos Kerkez

Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Liverpool’s efforts to sign Milos Kerkez. The Reds’ pursuit is ongoing and negotiations are firmly underway.

"Understand negotiations between Liverpool and Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez remain underway,” he wrote on Twitter.

"Liverpool remain favourites to sign the Hungarian left back as talks continue well — could be done soon.

"Kerkez remains very keen on the move, personal terms are not an issue."

This is another, then, that could move quickly. Liverpool are certainly after a new left-back and Kerkez tops their shortlist.

That’s something Anfield Watch first understood all the way back in November. The interest has remained strong ever since and should all come to a head soon.

Though, that doesn’t necessarily mean Liverpool will sign Kerkez. There are question marks over the asking price (around £45m) and if Bournemouth won’t budge, the Reds could well move on.

So we’ll see what happens. As Romano says, talks are underway and Kerkez is keen. An answer should be on the way.
