Liverpool's attitude isn't to simply build on their title-winning squad but overhaul it. They feel there's a lot to improve and Arne Slot has certainly earned himself the right to his own group of players.

Florian Wirtz is the centrepiece of that statement. The German playmaker will hopefully lead Liverpool's attack for the foreseeable future, while Jeremie Frimpong is a fantastic replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Milos Kerkez should join them before long, while the Reds also invested in Armin Pecsi as a long-term prospect in goal. All in all, things are going magnificently.

And they might be about to get even better.

Marc Guehi wants Liverpool

Liverpool are about to sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen. It's a fantastic deal and one that could benefit the club for a long time to come - if Quansah fulfils his potential in Germany.

But he'll need replacing. Not only as a squad member but also as a homegrown player. Liverpool's current crop actually breaks Premier League homegrown squad rules.

Marc Guehi helps with that as a fantastic player who's also homegrown. Even better, the Crystal Palace captain wants to move to Anfield.

The Independent claims Guehi is worried about game time for his next move. He'd prefer a move to Liverpool as a result, over an also-interested Arsenal.

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his Palace contract and could be sold this summer. Liverpool, it seems, hope to take advantage.

And if they can match Palace's asking price, it appears Guehi is all theirs.
