Liverpool BOMBSHELL as Man City make late move for star
Manchester City have dropped a bombshell on Liverpool. The Reds must act fast.
Liverpool have worked harder than anyone in this transfer window. They've brought in elite additions in both full-back positions, a new record signing in Florian Wirtz and then a world-class forward in Hugo Ekitiké.
They've also sold what feels like half the squad. The Reds wanted to overhaul things for Arne Slot's second season and they've done just that.

But they're also not finished. Liverpool are still desperate to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United and that one is reaching fever pitch with a week to go in the window.
He's not even the only one, however, as the Reds are still hoping to sign Marc Guehi. Though, that one depends on Crystal Palace lowering their price tag.
Whether they'll do that or not is unclear, but they'll certainly feel the pressure as the window closes. However, they've just received a reason not to drop that price.
Manchester City enter the fray
According to Indy Kaila (who keeps getting things right in this window), Manchester City have made their move for Marc Guehi. They're trying to find an agreement with Palace in this final week.
Liverpool, however, remain Guehi's first choice. They'll sign him if the Reds can come to terms with the Eagles but that becomes a lot more difficult if City are there, too.
For one, perhaps they'll pay the asking price and Liverpool won't? That would end any hopes of talking Palace down - in fact, they might raise their demands if there's proper competition here.
What could have ended up being a routine transfer with pressure to sell piled on Palace has now turned into a bit of a fight. Not what Liverpool wanted while they're also trying to force through a deal for Isak.
A busy week is coming up, then. Will it end with two new signings at Anfield?
