Liverpool star has 'no intention' to renew deal amid transfer interest
Long and public contract sagas have become commonplace in modern day football, and this season Liverpool had three of the biggest in history.
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk obviously opted to remain at Anfield beyond the end of the season, hoping to build on the success of this title-winning campaign, but Trent Alexander-Arnold decided to end his two-decade affiliation with the Reds.

Although the task of negotiating contracts with the club’s three biggest stars is now in Richard Hughes’ rear view mirror, there are a number of other stars lining up ready to talk.
Some stars are approaching the end of their current deals, such as Ibrahima Konate, but others are looking for improved terms to see their importance to the team recognised.
This is the case for one of Arne Slot’s most prolific attackers, Luis Diaz, and it may already be too late to keep the Colombian happy.
Diaz has ‘no intention’ of extending his stay at Anfield
Diaz’s future at Liverpool has been uncertain for a while now, and interest from Barcelona and the Saudi Pro League only complicates matters.
The Colombian remains on the same terms he agreed when he swapped Porto for Merseyside in 2022 and doesn’t find himself among the club’s top earners.

The electric forward’s desire for an increased wage is no secret, but a report from Mundo Deportivo as per Sport Witness has now claimed that he has ‘no intention’ of renewing his contract with Liverpool whilst a move to Barcelona remains a possibility.
Talks over a new deal have been reported for a while and no progress seems to have been made, so it may be the case that Diaz’s head has already been turned by the La Liga champions.
Is Diaz to Barca possible?
Although there is plenty of uncertainty surrounding Diaz’s current Anfield deal, he is actually under contract with the Premier League Champions until 2027, so the Reds are under very little pressure to sell this summer.
As such, a reported asking price of around €70-80 million has been set and this could be a stumbling block for Barca.
Liverpool look set to have one of the biggest summers in the club’s history. Jeremie Frimpong has already arrived and deals for Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz look like real possibilities.
The Reds’ big spend on incomings could encourage them to cut Barcelona a deal for Diaz, but the club are by no means desperate to offload the Colombian and any deal will likely be for a sizeable fee.

If Diaz truly is a top priority for Barca it seems likely a deal could be agreed this summer, but it doesn’t feel like the Colombian’s time at Anfield is done for definite just yet.

So the quote "no intention" is from an unconfirmed source? No wonder Liverpool fans treat your website as a joke.
He has two years left on his contract. He is 28. There is no need for Liverpool to increase his wages. You just let him run down his contract and leave on a free.
