Liverpool spent £450m in last summer’s transfer market - replenishing a squad that had just won the 2024/25 Premier League title.

The club broke the British transfer record twice - first in a deal for Florian Wirtz which could reach £116 and again in the case of Alexander Isak.

The 25-year-old cost a record £125m from Newcastle - with the forward options also strengthened by Hugo Ekitike’s arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt.

One area of the pitch which did NOT get any attention was left wing however despite the departure of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich.

Liverpool like Kenan Yildiz

And while the Colombian has got off to an immense start in Bavaria, the man left to carry the burden in his place - Cody Gakpo - has had his performances scrutinised more than ever.

The Anfield side have also got Rio Ngumoha available but - at only 17 - it’s unlikely he will be entrusted with a full-time role. That means other left-wing options could come back into view as we move towards January and the summer 2026 transfer window.

And one player seemingly back on the agenda is the Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz. The 20-year-old attacking sensation has probably been the Bianconeri’s best player this season although his output has come down a tad in recent weeks.

Juventus fear interest in Kenan Yildiz

Nonetheless the Turkey international has scored 18 goals and added 15 assists in a little under 100 matches for the Juve first team.

Usually stationed from the left of the attack, the former Bayern Munich youth is a creative tour-de-force - creating chances and deciding games with his playmaking abilities and devastating finishing skills.

Yildiz is equally adept at playing off either foot - providing versatility to Juve head coach Igor Tudor. Given his quality, the Turin side are desperate to tie their star name down to a new contract - with his current deal expiring in 2029.

Liverpool monitoring Kenan Yildiz

But according to a new report from Fichajes, Juventus could well be threatened by an approach from some of the Premier League’s leading sides.

Liverpool are described as “maintaining a long-standing interest” in the attacker - although Chelsea and Arsenal are also in the mix from England. Juve will also have to watch out for interest from Barcelona for a player who transferred to their club in 2022.

“After a meteoric rise at Juventus, the club is now working to renew his contract and prevent him from becoming a target for giants like Barcelona or Liverpool,” the report reads.

“Kenan Yildiz has attracted real interest from clubs such as Arsenal , Chelsea, and even Liverpool.

“Liverpool, for example, is among the clubs closely monitoring his progress and maintaining a long-standing interest.”

The Reds are always on the lookout for the best young talents around and there is no question that Yildiz is delivering on his immense potential right now.
