Liverpool test waters on MASSIVE Julian Alvarez signing
Liverpool have enquired about a deal for Julian Alvarez. The Argentine has been sensational for Atletico Madrid.
Anfield Watch exclusively revealed in March that Liverpool are big fans of Julian Alvarez. The Reds looked into a move before he joined Atletico Madrid but were unable to get something done with Manchester City.

But that interest absolutely remains. Why wouldn’t it? Alvarez has been one of the standout players in La Liga this season, taking to a starting role expertly.
Interest in him was always going to grow - as will his asking price. Atletico Madrid do not want to sell their star player, though they’ve always been open to some sort of negotiation with their best options.
And things are now heating up in that regard.
Liverpool ask about Alvarez
Marca reports that Liverpool have asked about Alvarez. They ‘tested’ whether a transfer was possible, but haven’t yet moved beyond that.
Arsenal, however, appear ready to. They’re supposedly pushing for Alvarez, as much as it’s possible to, and will see if Atletico are willing sellers for the right price.
There’s a interesting wrinkle with it all, too. Atletico want Darwin Nunez and Liverpool are certainly willing to sell him.
It’s expected that he’ll fit into the Alvarez situation in some way. Maybe that’s as simple as Atletico viewing him as a strike partner alternative to Alexander Sorloth and keeping their Argentine star alongside the Uruguayan.
But it could also mean Atletico are more likely to sell Alvarez if they know an immediate replacement will arrive with Nunez. That’s possibly the biggest question hanging over the situation.

It’s one to wait and see on, then. Arsenal may be pushing hardest but Liverpool are in the mix here. Let’s see what happens.
