Liverpool could miss out on Michael Edwards' PERFECT signing
Liverpool’s summer transfer business is underway and the first arrival is through the door.
Jeremie Frimpong was announced as a Red on Friday, just hours after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s inevitable move to Real Madrid was made official.

Deals for both Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez could follow in the coming weeks, but it is the striker position that has been mostly widely speculated about at Anfield.
Darwin Nunez looks almost certain to depart the club, and a number of high-profile names have been linked as his replacement.
Some of the fees attached to Liverpool’s reported targets are mind boggling, but one more affordable option might be about to seal his future.
Napoli lead the race for Jonathan David
Liverpool supporters will be familiar with Jonathan David, having seen him score at Anfield in January, and the Canadian striker has been repeatedly linked with a switch to Merseyside.
Available on a free transfer, David represents a unique market opportunity – the likes of which Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes have become known for – but it now appears that Liverpool won’t be the team to capitalise.
According to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, Napoli are close to agreeing terms with the 25-year-old, and the newly crowned Italian champions appear to be leading the race for his signature.

Inter Milan were reportedly interested but failed to reach an agreement with the player’s representatives, and Juventus are readying another approach to try and pry the 25 goal striker away from Napoli.
Sheth confirmed that a number of Premier League sides remain interested in the forward.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move, but the impending arrival of Liam Delap at Stamford Bridge could rule Enzo Maresca’s side out of the running.
A number of other options, including Hugo Ekitike and Julian Alvarez, have been linked with a Merseyside move, but the Reds don’t yet seem to have switched their focus to the front line yet.
A potentially record-breaking deal to get Wirtz to Anfield appears to be the priority at the moment, but Liverpool may miss out on the opportunity to sign David if they do not act quickly.
Choosing between the champions of England and the champions of Italy would be a hard choice, but the allure of Arne Slot’s Liverpool project would surely be hard to turn down.

Napoli may well be leading the race for David, but the Reds aren’t out of the running yet and the Canadian international may well move to Anfield this summer.
