Liverpool make 'informal approach' for Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement
Liverpool fans have finally been put out of their misery by Trent Alexander-Arnold. He will leave the club at the end of the season and now the focus will turn to replacing him this summer.
The speculation is over. We finally know where we stand and in a few weeks, we can move on.

But the transfer window doesn't open until June and despite Liverpool having already won the league, there are still a few more games to be played before the season comes to an end.
As such, the only real thing that Arne Slot can do is give Conor Bradley a run out on the pitch and assess his credentials as potentially replacing Trent full-time next season.
When it comes to the recruitment department however, things are very different. Transfer targets will already have been identified and conversations can now be had about making a move happen.
Liverpool are still eyeing up a move for Wesley
According to Caught Offside, one of the players that has been scouted over the last 12 months is Wesley Franca at Flamengo, and 'informal approaches' have been made about a possible transfer.
The 21-year-old attacking full-back has been making waves over in Brazil and regardless of how Bradley performs over the next few games, he might have a new rival at right-back next season.
However, the fight to secure his signature will be brutal as interest from Premier League clubs is rife.
The report claims that both Chelsea and Arsenal have initiated contact with the player's representatives and Manchester City are have also met with his agents.
Liverpool interest up until now has been somewhat muted, because there might still have been hope that Trent could stay, but the club is still firmly in the race for him.
On the basis that the homegrown Liverpool right-back costed nothing when he broke into the team, and given he will leave on a free transfer, the notion of spending money to replace him is regrettable.
But the asking price for Wesley is claimed to be within €30-35m, which is actually a pretty reasonable amount for one of the standout up and coming players.
Presumably, the Reds' interest in him will ramp up over the next few weeks, but approaches are also being rumoured for Jeremy Frimpong, so who knows how the club will proceed at right-back.

One thing is certain, however, which is that Liverpool will have a busy summer, with a lot of transfers needing to be signed off - £30m for a Trent replacement would help facilitate the other planned work.
