Liverpool have some massive plans this summer. They're now planning a second €100m transfer.

Liverpool are on the brink of signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The playmaker has chosen the Reds, per just about everywhere, and now negotiating over the fee is all that really remains.

It won't be a cheap one, though. Leverkusen rightly want an extraordinary amount in order to sell Wirtz and the eventual fee may break records.

But that's just how highly Liverpool rate the 22-year-old. They feel he's a magnificent talent and one they can justify spending over €100m on.

The truly shocking thing, though, is that he might not be the only one. Reports suggest Liverpool are about to do something truly crazy and spend a nine-figure sum again.

Liverpool firmly in Hugo Ekitike race

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg is adamant that Liverpool are in the mix for Hugo Ekitiké. That's despite Eintracht Frankfurt wanting €100m for him.

"The next big target from the Bundesliga: Understand FC Liverpool are now seriously in the race for Hugo Ekitiké!" he writes on Twitter.

"Talks have taken place. Slot/Edwards keen on him. The biggest rival at the moment: Chelsea.

"Eintracht Frankfurt have not yet received an offer. Markus Krösche still demand €100 million."

That would be a truly incredible sum to spend on a player like Ekitike, who doesn't have too much to suggest he's a €100m player beyond his efforts this season. Still, if Liverpool like him, they'll justify it.

But the really crazy thing here is that Liverpool, who have never spent more than €100m before, may now do it twice in quick succession. That's the beauty of not spending much in 2024, though - they've got the room to make magic happen.
