Liverpool set to agree RECORD-BREAKING Florian Wirtz fee
Liverpool are set to agree a record-breaking fee for Florian Wirtz, according to reports. The Reds aren’t messing around.
Liverpool are the surprise winners of the Florian Wirtz race. That's certainly how things look as of now.

The Reds weren't really reported as favourites or even in the race as recently as two weeks ago. Things have moved very quickly since, however.
Bayern Munich were long held up as the likely destination for Wirtz. They essentially have first option on every German talent, after all, and were publicly discussing the player.
Manchester City then arrived as a destination and one that made a lot of sense. They're chasing a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne and Wirtz would be an ideal one. Probably the ideal one.
But City dropped out of the race last week, claiming Wirtz was overpriced. That left a two-horse race as Liverpool suddenly found themselves at the forefront, to the surprise of everyone.
And as time went on, it became clear that Liverpool weren't just in the race: they could win it. Now they appear to have done just that, with Wirtz agreeing to join the club and only a fee to be agreed with Bayer Leverkusen.
Liverpool to agree Florian Wirtz fee
Sport Bild claims Liverpool are close to agreeing a fee with Leverkusen for Wirtz. Leverkusen want around €150m for their star asset, though the Reds believe they can talk them down to somewhere near €130m.
Either way, this will be a record transfer for Liverpool. There's also a good chance that it ends up as the record transfer for both English football as an incoming and Germany football in total.
Liverpool aren't going to take any chances, it seems, and are happy to pay a gigantic fee to secure one of the world's best players. The Reds formally agreed to pay record-breaking amounts in a meeting with the club's ownership last week.
And so there isn't a lot standing in the way here. The report makes it perfectly clear that Liverpool are fully expected to agree on terms with Leverkusen - there isn't a major disagreement over money here, and everything should be ironed out quickly.

Wirtz, then, will likely be a Liverpool player very shortly. And with that, the Reds bag one of the biggest and most exciting transfers in their history.
