Euro giants want Liverpool forward as welcome gift for new coach
Liverpool have got big plans to shake up their forward options this summer. We’ve already seen Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz arrive from Bayer Leverkusen - two players tipped to have a huge impact on Arne Slot’s attack.
But Liverpool won’t stop there. We can also expect a new No9 before the end of the summer transfer window - with the Reds linked with several star names.

In order to finance any further signings it looks like outgoings will need to be made. Some attackers are bound to leave - with Darwin Nunez a leading contender to be offloaded.

However there are also other players in the frame for an exit. Luis Diaz has got suitors in Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabia. Ben Doak could be sold to the highest Premier League bidder.
Federico Chiesa to leave Liverpool
And one other Premier League title winner who looks destined to be sold is Federico Chiesa. Although the Italy winger only arrived last September, the move hasn’t worked out.
Chiesa, 27, has played only SIX times in the Premier League and failed to impress on the rare occasions he was permitted to start last season.
Transfer noise first began ahead of the January transfer window, with a homesick Chiesa becoming a target for several sides in Serie A.
He remained at Anfield through the winter but his fortunes scarcely improved during the second half of the season.
Clubs such as Napoli and AC Milan were reported to be in the running for Chiesa, while there are suggestions that Cesc Fabregas’ Como might also make a bid.
Roma want Chiesa for Gasperini
Liverpool are seeking around €15m for the Euro 2020 winner, who left Juventus for Anfield in a deal that could reach £12.5m. Now another club has come forward with Roma set to hand new coach Gian Piero Gasperini the signing of Chiesa as a welcome present.
The former Atalanta coach is thought to be a big fan of the wide man and Roma are seeking to reconstruct their squad in the off-season.
Roma require outgoings too
According to a new report in Corriere della Sera, via Giallorossi.net, Roma will make an attempt to acquire Chiesa but, like Liverpool, are now needing outgoings.
We could see the likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini, Stephan El Shaarawy and Tommaso Baldzani depart - while the Italian capital club are also open to offers for Tammy Abraham.

If the England striker leaves then a significant salary gap will open up - which both Liverpool and Roma now hope will be filled by Chiesa.
