Fabrizio Romano confirms Alexander Isak to Liverpool deal could be HOURS away
Liverpool are heading for crucial days in the deal for Alexander Isak.
The Newcastle forward has reportedly informed his club he has NO intention of changing his mind over a desire to leave.

Citing broken relationships and broken promises, the Sweden striker has turned his back on the Geordies - failing to appear in preseason or in either of their first two Premier League games this term.

What comes next is uncertain. Liverpool tested the waters with a ÂŁ110m offer for Isak about a month ago but it was rejected out of hand.
Liverpool bid rejected
Sporting director Richard Hughes still hasn’t come back with a second offer as he knows certain dominoes need to fall before the Magpies even consider doing business.
Eddie Howe needs not one but two strikers. It looks like they could land Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves but would still require one more.
And then Hughes must get close to Newcastle’s asking price.
ÂŁ110m would have been a British record sum but the North East side want closer to ÂŁ150m. Time is running out on this deal and Liverpool must get it right.
Following a disastrous meeting between Newcastle higher-ups and Isak at his home, it may well be that his employers are resigned to him leaving.
Pay attention in next hours and days warns Romano
And Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the forward is doing everything in his power to make this move happen.
“Liverpool are pushing to make it happen and Alexander Isak is pushing to make it happen,” he said on YouTube.
“We know this deal is in the hands of Newcastle but Liverpool are not giving up.
“Isak is not changing his position.
“At the moment, the clear intention of Isak is Liverpool. The clear direction for Isak is Liverpool.
“So let’s see what’s going to happen. But for sure, Isak is still pushing and we have to be very attentive to this story in the next hours and days.”
Could Liverpool move for Isak alternative?
The transfer window closes on September 1 and Liverpool would no doubt love Isak to be part of the squad by that time.
Right now there are NO plans to add a different striker - although there are reports that the Merseysiders retain an interest in Rodrygo Goes from Real Madrid as a more versatile forward option.
