Liverpool are reportedly ready to pounce on an unbelievable mistake from Real Madrid. What a signing it could be.

Liverpool rarely beat Real Madrid at the transfer game. Los Blancos win virtually all battles to sign a player and last season saw them pinch a key Anfield player.

Trent Alexander-Arnold saw his contract out (well, nearly) before joining Real Madrid. Now Ibrahima Konate appears to be doing the same.

Liverpool will do all they can to renew the Frenchman's deal. Within reason, anyway - they don't want to be paying him what Virgil van Dijk is making.

But it also sounds as though Liverpool have a chance at beating Real Madrid in a transfer battle. Or at least, taking advantage of an almighty mistake from the Spanish side.

Liverpool and Eduardo Camavinga

Liverpool tried to sign Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes back before his joined Real Madrid. His reputation skyrocketed in half a season, however, and by then the Reds weren't in a position to win the fight.

He joined Real Madrid and has enjoyed a lot of success. However, it hasn't been all easy going.

Camavinga is heading into his fifth season with the club but he's never started more than 21 La Liga fixtures in a season. In fact, he started only 11 last season and is yet to start any this term.

TBRFootball claim Real Madrid are fully aware that Camavinga could now push to leave the club as a result. Liverpool are watching the situation closely as they could finally land the midfielder after all these years.

In fact, this would firmly be Liverpool winning that transfer battle and ending up with the player's prime years. If Real Madrid continue and make this incredible mistake of letting Camavinga go.

At just 22, Camavinga is one of the best defensive midfielders on the planet. He's 99th percentile for tackles as a midfielder, for one, while completing 90 per cent of his passes and carrying the ball with ease.

He actually ticks every box and Camavinga is exactly what Liverpool's midfield needs right now. He's perfect and still only 22.

Get him into the squad and Liverpool can tie him down for his prime years and almost certainly boast one of the world's very best.
