Liverpool could line up DREAM Florian Wirtz swap deal
Liverpool are planning an ambitious summer and the recent transfer link to Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz perfectly underpins how bold the Reds' recruitment team is looking to be.
We've all been attempting to work out where Liverpool might decide to strengthen ahead of next season, but a playmaker such as Wirtz was not on our lists.

This is not to say that the 22-year-old is not an incredibly talented player who would thrive on Merseyside, but a move for such an asset just didn't look to be on the cards.
Dominik Szoboszlai was the Reds' No.10 this season and while his attacking contributions might have been a little underwhelming, his overall work on and off the ball was incredibly impressive, which helped Liverpool to dominate so many games on their way to winning the Premier League.
But the Hungarian is perfectly capable of playing a number of different roles, and there are very few players who typify what it is to be a playmaker beyond Wirtz, who has 16 goals and 14 assists this season.
The problem with the link to German is how can Liverpool get a deal over the line, given his enormous price tag, although the Reds might have a trump card in their pocket ready to play.
Harvey Elliot to help facilitate a move for Wirtz?
According to Kicker, the midfielder is valued at €150m (£125m), which means Liverpool would have to break their record transfer fee by around £40m is a move is on the cards.
To say Liverpool's interest in him is ambitious is probably an understatement.
But this is one of the biggest talents on the planet, delivering for one of the biggest team's in the Bundesliga, and it was only last season that he helped his team to an Invincible league title win, ending Bayern Munich's dominant reign.
So how can we make this slightly more feasible? Well, the £125m fee is obviously going to be tough to meet, but a 'swap deal' of sorts could be used to try and bring down the price.
Leverkusen will be without a player, so we can help try to replace Wirtz for them, and instead of receiving a fee, we would simply pay a discounted price which could potentially drop to £75m.
In my view, Harvey Elliott could be the player Liverpool used in such a plan.
Elliott has been heavily rumoured for a move away from Liverpool this summer - not because he is looking to go anywhere, but because he has struggled to make an impact for the Reds this season.
Following an injury at the start of the campaign, which hindered him for a few months, the Englishman has not been able to find his way into Arne Slot's plans, often sitting on the sidelines.
This should not suggest that he is not a player who deserves to be benched. When he has played, he has made a difference to the team and the Liverpool fans adore him. He knows what it means to be a Liverpool player and his commitment to the club is unlike many others.
According to the reports that are linking him for an exit, Liverpool value him at around £50m, which could potentially help bring Wirtz's fee down a fair bit if Leverkusen were willing to negotiate a part-swap, part-fee deal for him.
While this might seem a bit like someone trying to buy something they can't afford by using multiple credit cards, it would be exactly the type of ambitious plan the recruitment team could try to pull off.

Whether this proposition is something that either club is willing to consider, we will have to wait and see, but there are options that Richard Hughes can utilise if Wirtz is a high priority target.
