Aside from David, who is available on a Bosman, all of the aforementioned names come with a hefty price tag attached. In order to land a high-quality striker, Liverpool MUST sell.
Darwin Nunez wanted by Atleti and Napoli
And Darwin, 25, is among the clubâs most bankable forward assets. The Uruguay frontman cost ÂŁ85m when signing from Benfica in 2022.
Under contract until 2028, Liverpool will be hopeful of bringing in a high fee for the forward, which would permit spending elsewhere.
Atletico Madrid are among the contenders for his signature, with Diego Simeone reportedly keen on acquiring the services of his fellow South American.
But donât discount the possibility that Darwin joins Napoli.
On the brink of claiming the Serie A title, Antonio Conteâs side are already planning reinforcements next season. And their hunt for a new striker option has led them to Darwinâs door.
Darwin in talks with Napoli
According to a report in Caught Offside, talks have already commenced between the Liverpool forwardâs entourage and the Italian club.
âNapoli have held talks with Nunezâs representatives as they step up their search for a new striker this summer,â a report reads.
The Partenopei could rival Liverpool for David, should the Reds decide to pursue that deal, but Nunez is described as a âconcreteâ possibility for the Scudetto contenders this summer.
âThe Serie A giants have also been strongly linked with Lille striker Jonathan David, but it seems Nunez is also a concrete target for them as heâs made available by Liverpool.â

Nunez has had a season to forget, even if heâs ended up a Premier League title winner. Heâs scored only five league goals and has started only one game in the top flight in 2025.
