Liverpool are reportedly considering a long-awaited £60m push to sign a Premier League star. They're weighing it up.

Liverpool will enter a tricky period right now as they sort the future of Luis Diaz. The Colombian reportedly wants to leave the Reds and will push for a transfer to Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

Now, whether Liverpool let him leave is another matter. They'll still want a massive fee for their winger and until now, no one has been willing to pay it.

Apart from teams in Saudi Arabia, we should add. There is interest there but it's unclear if that interest extends the other way.

Should Diaz leave, Liverpool would need to find a replacement. Someone who can operate from the left flank and possibly centrally, too.

And it sounds as though they might be willing to finally push forward on long-term interest to get that player.

Liverpool consider Eberechi Eze move

Miguel Delaney writes in the Independent that Liverpool are weighing up a move for Eberechi Eze. £60m is thought to be enough to get this deal done as per a release clause.

Eze is thought to favour a move to Arsenal is he leaves Crystal Palace, though it's unknown if this changes should Liverpool get seriously involved. Delaney says there's a real chance of that, with 'sources close to the situation' saying the Reds could move forward on 'long-standing interest'.

The 27-year-old had a fantastic season for Palace last time out. He took over as the leading star of the team, with Michael Olise having signed for Bayern.

The result was Palace winning the FA Cup - their first major silverware. Naturally, Eze scored the winning goal in the final against Manchester City.

His stock has never been higher, then, and Liverpool be very tempted here by a homegrown player in the prime of his career. That's essentially perfect to replace Diaz, should he leave.

We think this is one to watch, then. Liverpool need homegrown talents and may need a Diaz replacement. Eze fits the bill.

Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.
