Liverpool GATECRASH race to sign Bundesliga attacker
Liverpool and Bayern Munich are going head-to-head for Florian Wirtz. The Bayer Leverkusen attacker is believed to have spoken to BOTH European superclubs and a decision on his future is expected in the next 10 days or so.
The 22-year-old is set to star in the transfer saga of the summer, with interested clubs requiring a fee of around €150m to sign him. Germany international Wirtz was one of the key pieces for Xabi Alonso during Leverkusen’s historic, unbeaten 2023/24 season.

He opted to remain with B04 even though transfer interest was materialising last summer and is under contract at the BayArena until 2027.

Wirtz may yet opt to stay at Leverkusen for another season but if he is to move then Liverpool and Bayern will be there to strike. But Wirtz is not the only Bundesliga attacker that the Reds and FC Hollywood are reported to be in competition for.
Liverpool like Jamie Gittens
Jamie Gittens, 20, has been tipped to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer - although their need to sell is less pressing having made the Champions League.
The Englishman has been in good form for Dortmund this season - both in the Bundesliga and Europe - placing him on the radar of several top clubs around the continent.
Liverpool’s interest in the former Manchester City youth is well established and Caught Offside now reveals that Bayern are also interested.
However, the same report cites Arsenal as frontrunners for Gittens, who is believed to fancy a move back to his home country.
Arsenal lead race for Gittens
“Arsenal are reportedly ahead of the other clubs in the race to sign Gittens, and he is likely to cost around €55 million,” the report says.
“With a contract running until 2028, Dortmund are in a strong position and are not open to big discounts.
“While the 20-year-old attacker is happy at Dortmund, he would be open to taking up a new challenge this summer. The opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world will be quite exciting for him.
“Bayern Munich have also shown interest, but Bynoe-Gittens [sic] would prefer a move back to England. This gives Premier League clubs an advantage in the race for his signature.”
