Brilliant midfielder takes SUDDEN step closer to deadline Liverpool move
Liverpool could complete a sudden signing as a midfielder appears to move closer to a move. No one saw this coming.
Liverpool were linked with a move for Morgan Rogers on Friday - a surprise to many. Though, the Reds have absolutely had Rogers on their agenda this year.
But this late in the transfer window? Rogers was almost certainly available this summer as Aston Villa battled PSR without Champions League football but this feels like leaving it late.

Still, crazier transfer have happened. It’s also worth noting that Harvey Elliott is heavily linked with RB Leipzig, who are now searching for a Xavi Simons replacement.
That would open up a potential spot in Liverpool’s squad, not just for an attacking midfielder but for a homegrown star. Rogers certainly ticks both boxes.
And the idea of Aston Villa selling their star suddenly looks more likely.
Aston Villa and Morgan Rogers
The Athletic reports that Aston Villa are now trying to strike a late deal for Lucas Paqueta. That's a difficult one, of course, as West Ham United will not want to lose the Brazilian.
In fact, it feels as though they're destined for relegation if they do sell Paqueta. For that reason, we're not sure how likely their pursuit is.
But Villa even trying to make this one happen suggests something is up. A late move that would almost certainly be above market value for an attacking midfielder?
It's a strange one to suddenly jump on unless you're on the verge of something. It's worth noting that Villa are also trying to get a deal done for Marco Asensio - they're looking to spend, in other words.
Put it altogether and Liverpool's move for Rogers certainly takes a few steps closer. A space in their squad, Villa having money to burn, Villa looking at similr players...
It's more realistic, certainly. The transfer deadline promises to be a mad one and it could, maybe, end up with Rogers heading to Anfield.
