Green light in sensational £100m Anthony Gordon deal as forward's Liverpool wish revealed

Liverpool came close to signing Anthony Gordon back in summer 2024.

According to the reporter the Geordies now value Gordon at £100m with a verdict of “uncertain” recorded over the versatile forward’s fate.

“His switch to a more central role this season has made him even more valuable to manager Eddie Howe. That is likely to mean his asking price has risen,” Edwards writes.

Gordon is comfortable off the left - where the Premier League champions need an upgrade on Cody Gakpo - but is also adept at playing centre forward.

He scored four goals from that position against Qarabag in the Champions League last month. And the former Everton prospect has even featured on the right side of attack - meaning Richard Hughes could be getting three players for the price of one.
