Andy Robertson could well leave Liverpool this summer. It's come as a real shock - no one felt this was his final season with the club.

It meant there was no real send-off for Robertson at the end of the campaign as the Reds celebrated their Premier League title. Seeing him leave after not receiving one would be a massive shame.

But things are heading in that direction. Atlético Madrid want Robertson and are willing to pay some sort of fee to get him.

That will naturally tempt Liverpool, who will lose the Scot for free in a year if he doesn't sign a new contract. Robertson is also on substantial wages for a player who probably won't be a first-choice player next season as Milos Kerkez gets ready to arrive.

It appears that Robertson sees that coming, too, as this Atlético interest is not through fate.

Andy Robertson offered around

Defensa Central reports that Robertson has been offered to several major European clubs. That includes Atlético Madrid and, interestingly, Real Madrid.

That's interesting not simply because it's Real Madrid but because of who has been doing the offering here. Robertson has the same representation as Trent Alexander-Arnold - i.e. the group fronted by Alexander-Arnold's brother.

It seems he tried, in at least some sense, to take the legendary Liverpool pairing to the Santiago Bernabéu together. Real Madrid said no, however, as they're hoping to sign Alvaro Carreras.

We're not entirely sure who else was approached, only that Atlético were. They've now agreed that Robertson would be a fine signing for them and hope to strike a deal with Liverpool.

We'll see how Liverpool value Robertson, then. On the one hand, getting anything for a player who almost certainly leaves for free in a year would be great. On the other, it leaves a lot of pressure on Kerkez to hit the ground running.

What's clear, though, is that there's interest in Robertson and he appears to favour a move to Atlético. Let's see if something gets done.
