Liverpool plan to REPLACE club legend now clear
Liverpool have a clear plan in place to replace a true club legend. Here's how they want it to go.
It's a real summer of change at Liverpool in 2025. The Reds are looking to seriously shake things up - despite winning the Premier League title this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has gone, while Caoimhin Kelleher has now joined Brentford. The likes of Kostas Tsimikas, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Harvey Elliott, Ibrahima Konate, Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez all have question marks over their futures, too.
But this isn't a situation that will go away, either. Everyone can expect similar stories in 2026 as the likes of Andy Robertson come to the end of their contracts.
There's another club legend entering the unknown, too: Alisson Becker. Liverpool, though, appear to have replaced him already.
Alisson Becker's replacements
In truth, Liverpool moved to sign Alisson's replacement last summer. They grabbed Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, paying shy of £30m for the shot-stopper.
The plan is unquestionably for Mamardashvili to be Liverpool's next no.1 and we should get an idea of how realistic that is this season. Maybe even this summer as he finally joins up with the Reds for pre-season.
But replacing the world no.1 won't be easy. Making things even more difficult is Kelleher's exit to Brentford - he's a brilliant goalkeeper in his own right.
Liverpool, though, clearly have a plan. They're also signing Armin Pecsi from Puskas Akademie in Hungary.
The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the standout goalkeeping prospects in Europe. Liverpool will pay a decent amount of money to get him, too, while also making use of a rule they've never actually used before.
It shows the faith in Pecsi. Liverpool are willing to put money up and register him in order to secure another top talent.

The two of them are, with any luck, the future at Anfield between the sticks. Alisson won't last forever, after all, and the Reds are sure to keep things solid after he's gone.
