Isak was always the dream for the Reds from the moment Arne Slot decided he needed a new centre-forward.

Isak HAD to take Liverpool chance

And while there will always be discussions over the manner in which Isak made this move happen, the fact of the matter is that he has secured a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Liverpool are a club on top - and have the potential to improve even further. With Isak and Milos Kerkez coming on board, they boast SIX of the Premier League’s PFA Team of the Year for the 2025/26 season.

This chance might not have come again for Isak - who will turn 26 before the month ends. It’s a train he had to jump on.

He will now have the chance to compete for the biggest trophies; Liverpool are reigning Premier League champions and consistently go deep in the Champions League.

Isak banking £300k per week

And there is also the financial aspect for Isak to consider.

It’s been reported that he was eventually DENIED a long-promised new contract by Newcastle. Having signed as a 22-year-old in 2022, it’s believed Isak was making £120k per week at St. James’ Park.

Even an improvement on those terms would have been capped at around £200k per week.

With the very best strikers in the world - such as Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland - now raking in more than £500k per week, it’s only fair that Isak moves to a club that can afford to pay the top talents what they deserve.

And now in a new report from the Guardian it’s been revealed that Isak will be catapulted right into the top bracket of earners on Merseyside.

Isak shows Liverpool is the place to be

His new £300k per week pay packet - over a six-year contract - will put him behind only Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah (£400k p/w) in the salary stakes. It puts him well ahead of Alisson Becker and Florian Wirtz - the new signing reportedly being paid around £195k per week.

This evidences Liverpool’s belief in Isak as a top-level talent - a difference maker - and the club are prepared to pay him almost £100m gross over the lifetime of his contract.

And it shows Newcastle what the requirements are to keep big players happy. Treat them well, pay them well, make sure you can compete for top honours.

It’s a signal that Liverpool are an elite destination once again - even for the very best players in the world.
