Liverpool looking to strike deal for €80m England star
Liverpool and Crystal Palace have got some unfinished transfer business to attend to this summer before the window closes on September 1.
It appears that a deal for captain Marc Guehi could well be agreed - provided Palace’s demands for their captain are met.

Guehi, 25, is out of contract in 2026 and it doesn’t appear that the England international is going to sign a new deal. Rather than lose him for free next year, it’s likely that Palace accept a bid for his services this summer.

It’s been reported that the former Chelsea youth could command around £40m - a relative bargain for a player of his class and experience. But it’s not just Guehi that sporting director Richard Hughes has got in his sights.
LFC compete with Madrid for Wharton
According to a new report in AS, Liverpool are rivalling Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United for midfielder Adam Wharton.
Links between the English international and the Reds are not new - but the club will need to get ahead of Madrid if they are going to have any chance of landing Wharton.
His contract expires in 2029 and Madrid coach Xabi Alonso would like him to become the fulcrum of his side’s new-look midfield.
Liverpool's "deep pockets"
“For less than €80 million, Crystal Palace won't pick up the phone,” the report reads.
“Hence, Chamartín won't activate the mechanisms for this summer (the transfer window closes on September 1) unless there's a major sale, after investing €178 million in Trent, Huijsen, Carreras, and Mastantuono.
“It's also clear that the bidders have their pockets full. Look at Liverpool, City, and, above all, United. It's the Red Devils who are most eager to win him.”
Man Utd also want Wharton
Liverpool’s so-called “deep pockets” have already seen them beat Italian clubs to Giovanni Leoni and their spending power could also blow Madrid out of the water if they choose to activate.
Wharton, 21, has only been at Selhurst Park for a season and a half but has won many admirers during that timeframe.
A product of the Blackburn Rovers academy, he is an elegant, left-footed schemer who could add plenty to Liverpool’s current midfield options.
