Liverpool to receive ENORMOUS Mo Salah boost
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has looked a little short of his best so far this season.
Perhaps it speaks to the Egyptian’s incredible standards that three goals and three assists in 10 matches is seen as a drop in form. But there is truth to the opinion that Salah has been less involved this term.
The Reds will be hoping the 33-year-old undergoes a turnaround in form over the coming weeks and gets back to his fearsome best.
Having scored 29 goals en route to the Premier League title last season, Salah will again be integral in Arne Slot’s side’s attempts to retain the trophy this term.
Salah scores two versus Djibouti
But he’s going to have to juggle that quest against some sizeable international commitments. For one thing there’s the Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs of Egypt get their AFCON campaign underway on December 22 - and Salah could be missing for up to 10 games in total due to his international obligations.
He will also be involved in next summer’s 2026 FIFA World Cup - having helped secure his side’s passage to the tournament courtesy of two goals versus Djibouti on Wednesday.
Salah will be RESTED by Egypt
It promises to be another intense season for Salah - which won’t conclude until Egypt are knocked out of the World Cup. So any opportunity Liverpool get to rest their talisman should be welcomed.
And he may well be spared further international matches during the current international window.
According to a report in Mala3eb, Egypt coach Hossam Hassan would consider a request from the Reds’ legend to sit out this Sunday’s qualifier at home against Guinea-Bissau.
With the game largely redundant, Salah could well be spared another appearance - thereby guaranteeing extra freshness when the Anfield side return to action.
Does Salah feel 'exhausted'?
“If Mohamed Salah feels exhausted and requests a rest before the resumption of the English Premier League matches, there will be no objection, despite his desire to be present next Sunday to celebrate Egypt's World Cup qualification with his teammates in Cairo,” the report reads.
Liverpool play Manchester United on October 19 - one of Salah’s biggest prey.
