Liverpool timeline for Bradley Barcola deal revealed
Bradley Barcola has been a hot topic of conversation over the last couple of months.
Even though the attacker has played a decent chunk of games for Paris Saint-Germain this season, that hasn't stopped rumours being shared about his future.
Several of the biggest clubs in the world, including Liverpool, have registered their interest in the Frenchman with a deal looking more likely as the weeks go on.
Barcola isn't a guaranteed starter at the Parc de Princes which is one of the main reasons behind all the rumours that have emerged.
And, even though no concrete moves have been made yet, a new timeline for the deal has been shared.
Paris Saint-Germain will wait until after the World Cup to negotiate transfers
Luis Enrique has led his team to two Champions League wins in a row.
The Ligue 1 outfit are undoubtedly the best team in the world at the moment and anyone would be mad to leave them.
However, since Barcola is in some of the best form of his career and isn't a guaranteed starter, it's not hard to understand why his head could be swayed.
And, at the moment, it feels like that's exactly what Liverpool are doing with journalist Sacha Tavolieri now telling the club when they can make their first move for the winger.
"Bradley Barcola did not ask to leave PSG," he wrote via his personal X account.
"Despite recent rumors, there is no significant progress on the Barcola file.
"Be that as it may, whether in terms of arrivals or departures, Paris Saint-Germain will not make any moves before the end of the World Cup. To be continued."
Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes have some tough decisions to make
Now that Andoni Iraola is the man at the helm, Liverpool's transfer plans have probably changed quite a lot.
The Spaniard has a completely different style of play to Slot with his teams mostly about pressing.
To be fair, Barcola pretty much ticks every box for what Iraola wants in a player which is why it wouldn't be surprising to see him become the Reds' number one target this summer.
Yan Diomande is another option that they could explore but, with RB Leipzig putting such a massive price tag on his head, it's unclear whether that move will actually work out or not.
And, if PSG do end up signing someone such as Diomande or Crysencio Summerville as they've been linked with doing, there's going to be even less of a chance for Barcola to play.
If Liverpool signed the Frenchman, their attack would be in a much better place and their chances of winning trophies would increase tenfold.
Here's hoping that the Reds' dreams become reality.
