Liverpool take major step towards Bradley Barcola agreement
Liverpool have moved closer to signing Bradley Barcola. The Reds continued to be linked with the Frenchman.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Bradley Barcola for some time now. And with good reason, too - he's a fantastic player.
But Barcola does struggle to get the kind of gametime he wants at Paris Saint-Germain. He's started only 10 times in Ligue 1 this season, playing under 1000 minutes.
For a player with the ability to be one of the best in the world, that's not really what he needs. Or wants, for that matter.
And so links to Liverpool have been coming. The Reds desperately need a new winger, after all, having sold Luis Diaz in the summer and then failed to replace him.
Notably, they didn't even try to. There's a sense that Liverpool only want to bring in the right replacement and that may well be Barcola.
They've reportedly been in long-term contact with him. All that's really needed is for PSG to want to sell and Barcola to want to move.
PSG replace Barcola?
PSG have just agreed a deal to sign Dro Fernandez from Barcelona, says Fabrizio Romano. The player had been pushing to join the Parisians and his cheap release clause made things a virtual formality.
It means PSG are investing in a very talented left-winger who they are presumably guaranteeing minutes to. We're not sure why Dro would choose to join them if that weren't the case, after all.
But any minutes would be at Barcola's expense. He's been the odd one out for a while now and this absolutely moves him that one step closer to the exit door.
Barcola has already been linked with that exit quite heavily, for one. Signing a player who can take his place in the squad only makes it more likely and Liverpool appear to be the best-placed team to take advantage of the situation.
