One Liverpool star is now certain to leave the club after Arne Slot's damning decision.

There have been a lot of new signings at Anfield this summer, which has pretty much decided the face of many of the club's current stars.

As always when there are a lot of new players coming in, usually there will be a number of departures, too.

We've seen that already. Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have both departed. Jarell Quansah has moved on, as has Tyler Morton. And they are set to be followed by Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa in the near future, who are both expected to leave the club.

But there's another Liverpool star who could also be moving on, who has attracted a lot less transfer talk than the aforementioned Elliott and Chiesa.

In fact, based on pre-season, there was an assumption that Kostas Tsimikas may even stay at the club, even if that would seem a little excessive considering in addition to having Andy Robertson as competition, Liverpool have now also brought in Milos Kerkez.

But while Tsimikas' chances of staying at Liverpool looked almost certain at times in pre-season, especially with the lack of interest in his services, that seems to be changing now.

The Greek international was not included in Liverpool's Community Shield game. This was a decision made by Arne Slot and it's a decision that will confirm his departure from the club.

Especially, after Paul Joyce's tweet confirmed that there has been more European and domestic interest in his services on X. This is followed up by the fact that Nottingham Forest asked about him earlier on in the window.

Tsimikas has been a fantastic long-term servant of Liverpool. He's played a key role in finals for the Reds and it's to his testament that at times he's really pushed Andy Robertson for the number one left-back spot in the team.

But now there is no place for him in the side and having a non-homegrown spot being taken up by a player who is only the club's third choice left-back is a luxury the Reds cannot afford.

This is why Tsimikas is certain to leave Liverpool this summer. Slot's decision merely just confirmed the inevitable.
