The Reds are going through a shake-up at the moment but one Liverpool star could be staying put.

So many new arrivals and departures could be happening at Anfield this summer. Perhaps never in the history of the Premier League has an actual winner made as many changes as Liverpool plan to make.

As Anfield Watch revealed exclusively Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards are planning for an era-defining overhaul. This will see a big shake-up in the attacking department.

However, there may be other departures as well. One departure has already been confirmed with Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving the club and likely to join Real Madrid.

We will probably get news of a new arrival soon, too. Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez are all closing in on a move to Anfield.

One player though who likely won't be making a move is one of Arne Slot's key midfielders.

He didn't star out that way of course. Initially, Wataru Endo was out of favour under Slot. However, over the course of the season the Japanese captain has won the Dutchman over.

Towards the end of the campaign, Endo became a key pillar, often coming on to close out games. He's also proved really versatile, even playing as a centre-back sometimes.

Endo is probably one of Liverpool's most important squad players. He's a star who is often very difficult to replace. A bit like James Milner was before he departed the club.

That's why it's great news that Endo seemingly isn't looking to leave the Reds. Even though there have been suggestions he could leave with clubs interested in him.

But he confirmed his plans in a recent interview in Japan.

"I think l'll be at Liverpool next season," Endo told Japanese TV Abema.

"If I have the chance to play for Liverpool, would I really want to throw that away and move to another team? I wouldn't."

This is brilliant to hear. Endo is exactly what you want from a Liverpool player. He clearly loves playing for the club and while he obviously wants to play games, he won't kick up a fuss if he isn't always playing.

He's a true professional, ready to jump into any game when Slot needs him.

The fact that he isn't planning a move away means Liverpool likely at least won't have to solve the riddle of finding someone who could replace his presence in the squad.

Which when the times does come for Endo to leave, will be very difficult for the Reds. Make no mistakes about that. Players like Endo are sometimes just as important for the success of a team as the ones who play week in, week out.
