This isn't necessarily as big of a problem as it may appear. After all, Conor Bradley is ready right now to step-up and become the first choice option.

Behind him, Liverpool have a number of options to choose from in the market who could be available for a decent price.

The bigger loss though will not just be Alexander-Arnold's presence on the pitch, it's his presence off the pitch.

He's a Liverpudlian. A scouser born in the city and who came through the academy's youth ranks from a young age. Replacing that kind of presence is going to be a lot more difficult for Liverpool.

Because scousers don't come around often. Especially not of Alexander-Arnold's quality.

Sure, Liverpool have Curtis Jones. But they already had him. If Alexander-Arnold leaves the scouse void still remains in the squad because Jones had already been there.

Liverpool now need someone alongside Jones. And there's only one obvious choice really.

It's Jayden Danns of course. The Liverpool wonderkid is the next exciting scouse talent in this team. He's been at the club for years and he's already somewhat proven himself at first team level.

The 19-year-old has scored three goals for Liverpool in just 193 minutes of playing time on the pitch. Break that down and that's a goal every 64 minutes.

One thing and one thing only has halted Danns' career trajectory so far and that's injuries.

He's undergone a big growth spurt over the last few years and his new body is still growing and adjusting to the demands of adult football.

As a result, he's been unable to play for Sunderland despite being sent out on loan there and he was unable to be involved in pre-season last summer.

Liverpool are being careful with him. Steven Gerrard underwent similar problems after he grew a lot at around the same age as Danns.

In these situations Liverpool have to be cautious. But in the long-term Liverpool will know Danns is destined to be a first team player.

With so much uncertainty in the no.9 position, if fit Danns can stake a claim for himself and showcase Slot he is ready to be an option.

In the long-term, based on everything we have seen so far, Danns is definitely going to be a first team regular. He's got the finishing instinct, the work-rate and the technical qualities needed to make it in the modern game.

That's why he's simply the one to replace Alexander-Arnold as Liverpool's next scouse superstar. That's why Liverpool also need to nurture him carefully because the scouse essence and quality is a rare trait.

When a scouse player comes through of Danns' quality, you have to give them every opportunity to flourish and make it.
