Liverpool ready to SACK Arne Slot this week
Arne Slot’s second season with Liverpool hasn’t gone to plan and, according to one report, it will soon be over.
Liverpool’s defence of the Premier League title was over by mid-November, and the Reds’ look like a team without direction.
After enduring one of the wort runs in the club’s history, losing nine in a 12-game run, Slot appeared to have turned things around but recent performances have once again been disappointing.
Liverpool’s main competitors for fourth in the league, Manchester United and Chelsea, both parted ways with their managers in the past week and now Liverpool could follow suit.
Slot to be sacked by Liverpool
According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool have taken the decision to sack Slot and the Dutchman will not continue in his position beyond the end of the week.
The report states that the club have begun the process of replacing the head coach, and want to appoint someone who can turn the teamās season around.
This report follows an earlier claim by MatchDay Central on X that Slot will be relieved of his duties by the end of the week.
It is important to note that no English media outlets are reporting Liverpool have decided to sack their head coach, and there has been no indication from the club that the dismissal is imminent.
Who could replace Arne Slot?
One of the most spoken about options for Liverpool should they choose to move on from Slot is Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, who most recently managed Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.
Gerrard is currently available and could come in on a short-term basis whilst Liverpool assess their options.
Jurgen Klopp has also been touted for a potential return if Slot goes, a prospect that will no doubt excite many supporters.
Xabi Alonso was widely considered the favourite for the Liverpool job earlier in the season when Slot’s job was under pressure, but the Spaniard has steadied the ship at Real Madrid and doesn’t look available now.
If the decision has been made to move on from Arne Slot then Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes will be assessing a whole host of options, and it won’t be long before Liverpool have their new boss.
Comments
Liverpool have been the most boring and uninspiring team to watch this season. The football is painfully slow, dominated by endless lateral and backward passing, with very little creativity, urgency, or incisive play. There is no aggression off the ball, and on the ball the team looks passive, soft, and predictable.
Arne Slotās system has become tactically stale and extremely easy to neutralise. The slow tempo and rigid movement make Liverpool simple to defend against. While his ācontrol-basedā approach may have caught opponents off guard in his first season, that advantage has completely disappeared. This season, even weaker sides like Leeds, Wolves, and West Ham have clearly figured Liverpool out ā and they now look fully capable of beating them on any given day.
What was once known as heavy metal football has now deteriorated into something unrecognisable. This is no longer intensity, speed, or dominance ā it is soft, lifeless football, lacking identity, bite, intensity and ambition. Liverpool have gone from exciting team and intimidating opponents to inviting pressure and boring team.
The reality is unavoidable: Slotās approach has failed. Just as Amorim was shown the door when his system stopped working, the same decision must be made here. Liverpool cannot afford to persist with a manager whose style drains excitement, suppresses aggression, and leaves the team tactically exposed and weakened.
Arne Slot must be sacked !!!. This brand of football does not belong at Liverpool Football Club. Bring back Klopp please.
Im quite sure you are kidding. Klopp gave everything he had To Liverpool FC. So he dont have that fire anymore. He said himself.

The players still had a bit of Klopps style embedded last season now players have left new 1s have come in & Slots style in now being brandished we are easy to score against with no aggression toothless he can't even get the King scoring goals which baffles me
Liverpoolās decline this season is not a matter of form ā it is structural.
The teamās attacking play has become slow and excessively cautious, dominated by lateral and backward passing with little penetration. There is a clear lack of verticality, tempo, and risk-taking, making Liverpool easy to organise against.
Off the ball, the intensity that once defined the team has disappeared. Pressing is passive, transitions are slow, and opponents are allowed far too much comfort in possession. On the ball, the rigidity of Slotās system restricts creativity rather than enabling it.
While Slotās control-based approach initially brought stability, it has now been thoroughly analysed and neutralised by opposition coaches. Even teams with inferior squads have learned how to sit compact, block passing lanes, and punish Liverpoolās slow circulation.
This represents a fundamental departure from Liverpoolās historical identity. The club that once thrived on aggression, speed, and chaos now plays sterile, risk-averse football that neither dominates nor excites.
When a system becomes predictable, slow, and ineffective ā and shows no sign of evolution ā change is not reactionary; it is necessary. Sack Arne Slot please !!!
Yes. We must get rid of him. Thats a must. But then. We spent huge In summer, still we are so so short In attack. Look at the option. Salah, very unsure what is happening with him. Ekitike is good, Wirtz is Off by miles isak away for months, Gakpo is average, then Rio dont get minutes because Slot is afraid of the age, I mean, can we be worse? If New gaffer comes, he would have very difficult half season To summer. Because we are short on attack badly...lets see what happen this month. But its going To be huge next summer again. Getting those wingers and middle defenders. By the way.. Man City is not buyinh Semenyo.. It was a faint! Their Real target is somebody Else now... Think City have wingers Foden, Savinho, Doku, Cherki and Bobb.. It would be crazy To add More.. Everybody would be unhappy because Foden, Cherki, Doku are so, so Hard To beat
I hope it would be xabi Alonso, but maybe its not possibly. But I bet Xabi is thinking:if I go To Liverpool theres a culture of follow and fight for gaffer and a badge, without huge egoes. It would be huge success story! But realisti i'd say Le Bris, just look Sunderland play. Its wow! Its big club football. Great triangles.Sometimes tikin takan, some times long. And their movement is so good. Watching them, many times you got imitation that they have More players than opposite. Whole team attack, whole defends.they dont give goals In and dont give goog chances away. Big team managerš and we propably should have him.. So go for him. And then theres cesc fabrecas, Who is promising but im not that impressed.
