A summer of change is expected at Anfield as Liverpool look to regain their spot at the top of English football.

Speculation is mounting over whether Arne Slot will remain head coach, but the club are pushing on with their transfer plans regardless.

The arrival of Jeremy Jacquet has already been confirmed and the Reds are clearly looking to make further additions to the squad in the coming months.

Top players rarely come cheap though, and an unremarkable campaign will have dampened the Reds’ spending power.

Some departures should be expected then, and four players reportedly find themselves on the transfer list.

Liverpool planning clear out to raise summer funds

Almost every player in Slot’s squad has been linked with a move away over the course of the season.

As is usually the case, there are plenty of teams who would love the opportunity to sign some of Liverpool’s top talents and, according to a new report from Spain, several will be available this summer.

The four players that the Reds have put up for sale are Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Joe Gomez and Federico Chiesa, according to Fichajes.

There are multiple clubs said to be interested in all four players, and Liverpool are looking to capitalise on that interest to raise funds and make way for new additions.

Chiesa’s role in the squad has never been particularly secure, with the Italian struggling for minutes in his first campaign and struggling to make an impact this year. A return to his native Italy seems the most likely outcome.

Joe Gomez’s season has once again been marred by injury, although the Englishman has proven himself more than capable when he has made it onto the pitch.

The report speculated that a move to a midtable Premier League club could be next for the 28-year-old.

Alexis Mac Allister has struggled to live up to the standard he set last season at times this campaign, but is still attracting interest from several top sides in Europe including Real Madrid and PSG.

Cody Gakpo is perhaps the most surprising name on the list, although the Dutchman has received heavy criticism in recent months for his tendency to cut inside and shoot too often.

The 26-year-old still provides a dynamic threat in the attack and can be deployed across the front line, but he has attracted interest from a number of European sides and the club reportedly think now is the best time to cash in.

A lot could change between now and the transfer window opening, but some big sales are definitely on the cards this summer at Anfield.
