Liverpool now FRONTRUNNERS for fantastic Premier League forward

Liverpool are now leading the race to sign one of the most impressive forwards in the Premier League. Can they get this one over the line?

Liverpool will re-enter the transfer market this winter, despite their enormous summer outlay. The Reds spent over £400m to reshape their squad and while over £200m of player sales subsidised that, it was will the biggest transfer window in their history.

But it didn't sort everything. Liverpool's team is not functioning correctly and there's more than just a sense that they need to continue their rebuild.

That means some difficult decisions are on the way. The club not only need to spend a lot of money but also decide who's places are up for grabs.

Signing a winger, however, isn't that difficult. Liverpool almost certainly need one, having let go of Luis Diaz in the summer and not replacing him.

We fully expecting someone to arrive - and it's looking increasingly likely to be Antoine Semenyo.

Liverpool lead race for Antoine Semenyo

The i reports that Liverpool are considered to be the frontrunners for Antoine Semenyo. The winger is expected to leave Bournemouth in 2026 thanks to a release clause in his contract.

That release clause stands at £65m in the winter window but drops again to £60m in the summer. The report claims that Manchester City, who are also keen on Semenyo, are more inclined to wait until the summer before moving for him.

Liverpool, however, may decide to push in the winter. That's what has them leading this particular race - a sense that they're eager to move ASAP to add the Ghanian to their squad.

There's certainly room for him after Diaz's exit, while his ability to cover both flanks would help while Mo Salah is off at AFCON with Egypt. Throw in Semenyo's homegrown status and it's one Liverpool won't want to miss out on.

Especially for £65m. Semenyo has been brilliant this season and that kind of money is actually considered cheap for a player entering their prime years and showing this kind of quality.
