Liverpool move one step CLOSER to Rodrygo deal
Liverpool's Rodrygo pursuit is one step closer after the latest update.
It's a transfer season with plenty of moving and fastly developing sagas. Liverpool have been at the thick of the action, completing some of the biggest deals of the summer.
Florian Wirtz could prove to be one of the best signings of the window. Meanwhile Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong are both very astute additions.
Not to mention in Hugo Ekitike Liverpool are now looking to close in on the most coveted forward of the summer.
And they aren't done yet. There are more deals for Richard Hughes to get over the line. Most notably the biggest deal that is being discussed right now after Ekitike, is the club's pursuit of Rodrygo.
ESPN in Brazil have confirmed that Liverpool have entered the race for Rodrygo's signature.

Of course it's one thing entering a deal to sign him and another thing pulling it off. A lot will hinge on Rodrygo's desire to leave Real Madrid.
And his desire to join Liverpool. Especially after he rejected a move to Anfield back when he was just 16-years-old, eight years ago.
Things could be different this time around. Rodrygo's position at Real Madrid is under threat. He featured little under Xabi Alonso during the FIFA Club World Cup and the former Liverpool midfielder seems to prefer Vinicius Junior and Arda Guler ahead of him in the pecking order.
This coupled with the fact that Rodrygo isn't able to play in his preferred position on the left-wing for Real Madrid means there is a genuine possibility Liverpool could land him this time around.
And they seem have gotten one step closer in that pursuit as well. That's according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Burgos speaking to Redmen TV. According to the reporter, Rodrygo is 'happy' with the interest and he's 'open' to a move after the club sent an emissiary to arrange a potential deal for the Brazilian.
Burgos also claimed that the chances of him leaving are now '70 to 30.'
This is a significant step for Liverpool. They've been able to convince Rodrygo to join the Reds and that is an exciting development. Of course the agreement with Real Madrid might be more difficult but it's important to note everything hinges on a potential departure at Anfield.
It's impossible to imagine Liverpool would buy Rodrygo if Luis Diaz had stayed at the club. The Colombian definitely seems open to a move away and there are a number of clubs interested in his services including Barcelona and Bayern Munich as well as teams in Saudi Arabia.

It's good to see Liverpool acting proactively and identifying his replacement already. This move for Rodrygo looks like it's getting closer and closer and that means Liverpool must also be confident of finding the right buyer for Diaz.
