Liverpool jet out for 'intelligent' star amid massive transfer battle
Andoni Iraola and Richard Hughes have a lot of work to do this summer.
Three of their starting players have already exited Anfield and, with no new players arriving just yet, they have a fair few gaps to plug.
However, since resources are limited in L4 due to their transfer regime, it's unclear how many of their priority positions they'll actually be able to fill.
Almost every area of the Reds' team needs a new player or two but, at the moment their midfield is in particularly bad shape.
Most of Liverpool's transfer links have been with midfielders and now, the Anfield outfit have actually jetted out to the United States to see one of their targets in person.
Liverpool have sent their scouts to watch Ayyoub Bouaddi at the World Cup
Ayyoub Bouaddi's World Cup debut for Morocco against Brazil was exceptional.
They drew 1-1 with the South American team with Bouaddi putting in an impeccable performance.
However, before he even played for his country at the World Cup, rumours of Liverpool's interest was emerging with other Premier League clubs soon following suit.
And, even though a deal isn't likely to be completed until after the tournament, that doesn't mean that the Reds can't show their interest with a fresh report from Santi Aouna stating that the Anfield outfit have actually scouted the 18-year-old.
"Liverpool executives made the trip to New York’s MetLife Stadium specifically to watch Ayyoub Bouaddi play," he wrote via his personal X account.
"The Reds have added him to their shortlist, just like Lamine Camara and others.
"Several clubs are closely following the Moroccan’s progress: PSG, Arsenal, Tottenham, and many more."
Ayyoub Bouaddi could be Liverpool's next big thing
Liverpool already have one of the most impressive young attackers in the world with Rio Ngumoha.
The 17-year-old set the Premier League alight this term as he managed to play over 1000 minutes for the Reds.
This form resulted in Bayern Munich trying to sign him but, since Liverpool stood strong and are set to offer him a new deal, he's looking likely to stay put.
He's already been described as an "intelligent" player by his manager at Lille which proves how good he actually is.
A fee worth just over £60 million is what has been mooted to be enough to prise him away from Ligue 1 this summer and, while that might be a hefty chunk of change for an 18-year-old, if he continues putting in performances like this one against Brazil, he could end up being worth even more.
So, with all of this in mind, it's hardly surprising to learn that Liverpool have jetted out to watch him play.
