Liverpool have themselves a golden opportunity to try and sign a world-class talent. Can Richard Hughes get it over the line?

Liverpool will chase a winger at some point - they have little choice. In fact, it could well happen in January as the winter transfer window opens.

The Reds aren't happy with their squad after a difficult start to the campaign. Their record-breaking spend over the summer hasn't brought the results everyone hoped for and more work is necessary.

And the wing is an interesting one. Liverpool sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich in the summer and didn't replace him - something that surprised many.

It's left the Reds a little bit short up top, lacking pace and directness on the wing. Mo Salah's struggles only make that more obvious and there's a sense that Liverpool must move to find someone for the flank.

Now one of their transfer targets may be available for cheaper than we all thought.

Yan Diomande available for less

Liverpool have consistently been linked with Yan Diomande after his rapid rise over the last 12 months. Diomande broke through with Leganes to start 2025, earning a move to RB Leipzig in the summer.

That proved to be an astute investment as Diomande quickly moved up another level in the Bundesliga. However, that's naturally led to him being linked with several clubs across Europe for a move in 2026.

Liverpool are one of those and it appears he may not be as expensive as first thought. That's certainly going to raise eyebrows at Anfield.

Sky Sports claim the €100m (£87m) price tag that's been bounded about isn't accurate, instead suggesting that Diomande could move for as little as £52m. That would be a steal.

Diomande looks like one of Europe's brightest prospects and the kind of winger who could become a star. He's a genuine world-class talent looking for the right development.

And at £52m, we imagine Liverpool would be more than happy to give him it.

instead of talking its about time for action we have messed about with Guehi for over a year to the point of signing him an arguing over £5m and now there are several clubs in the fray. Now were doing the same with Diomande we need two players if not three two at the back and an attacker, if these are not signed then we will be in trouble if anyone gets injured at the back or up front.
