Liverpool have unwavering belief in their new signing. He's a superstar - even if he hasn't shown it yet.

Liverpool had a summer to remember as they twice broke their transfer record in an incredible few months. In fact, they spent big in general - records were broken at both left-back and right-back, for instance.

But Alexander Isak's arrival from Newcastle United topped the lot. He's the new no.9 at Anfield and the most expensive player in the history of British football.

It's the first time since 1996 that Liverpool have held that record, breaking it to sign Stan Collymore from Nottingham Forest. We'll hope Isak manages to live up the fee a little better than Collymore did.

The Swede is, obviously, the most expensive player in Liverpool's history. That record was only a couple of months old, though, as the Reds broke it to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen back in May.

With Wirtz, Liverpool signed one of the hottest prospects in world football. There's an argument that he's the most highly-rated player the Reds have ever signed - even if we haven't quite seen it yet.

Wirtz has been a little quiet in his first few games. Quiet enough that some quarters have maybe questioned if he's made for Premier League football.

Liverpool, though, aren't worried.

Liverpool's unwavering faith

The Times reports that Liverpool are not worried about Wirtz in the slightest. They believe that 'he possesses in his ability to unlock opposing defences' and that their faith there is 'unwavering'.

Instead, Liverpool are accepting something else about him: "that Wirtz is adapting to a new league". That's the key thing here - the Reds feel he'll need time to get up to speed.

And that's fair enough. It's not only a new team in a new league but one that underwent a dramatic overhaul this summer.

It's an entire team finding its feet and that makes it more difficult for an incoming player. We're even seeing Mo Salah take some time to adapt to the new era at Anfield.

We're not worried, then. Wirtz has all the talent in the world, quite honestly, and Liverpool know that keeping the faith and waiting for him to settle is all that's needed.
