Liverpool have discovered one of the best defensive midfielders in the WORLD
Liverpool’s signing of Florian Wirtz is bound to have a knock-on effect on several of the team’s midfielders.
Acquired from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee that could reach £116m, the 22-year-old is expected to lead the Reds’ attack in the years ahead and he will likely be doing so from a central playmaking position.

To that effect, Wirtz is taking a spot away from a Liverpool midfielder - with Arne Slot usually opting for Dominik Szoboszlai in the No10 position last season.

And so far this season it’s Szoboszlai who’s been shunted around in order to accommodate the new arrival.
Szoboszlai tipped to become the best No6 in the world
The Hungarian has played in a deeper midfield position - against Bournemouth on matchday one - and also at right-back.
Szoboszlai played in that unfamiliar position against Newcastle and Arsenal - providing an expert dummy in the lead-up to Rio Ngumoha’s goal against the Geordies and scoring an inch-perfect free-kick against the Gunners.
The 24-year-old has demonstrated tactical versatility and intelligence in positions far away from his usual No10 berth - ensuring Arne Slot has got high-quality options across the defence and midfield.
And now his international manager - Marco Rossi - has claimed that Szoboszlai can become the best No6 in the world having witnessed his efforts there in recent matches.
Szoboszlai can play in any position
Hungary drew their opening FIFA World Cup qualification match 2-2 against Ireland over the weekend.
Following the sending off of Roland Sallai, Rossi was forced to use Szoboszlai in a deeper midfield position - and was impressed with what he saw.
"Dominik Szoboszlai's defensive play was positive,” he told Origo.
“After the sending off, we switched to a 5-3-1, so we could no longer put pressure on the opponent.
“He can play in any position, as he has proven in the Premier League, but we think he can be one of the best in the world in the number six, defensive midfield position."
Will Arne Slot use Szoboszlai in deeper midfield position?
Szoboszlai played alongside Alexis Mac Allister on matchday one versus Bournemouth while Gravenberch was absent through suspension.
Given the manner in which Slot has moved him around so far this season, it would be no surprise to see Szoboszlai get another chance there at some stage this term.
And so Wirtz’s signing could mean Liverpool discovering that they have ANOTHER contender to be the best No6 in the world alongside Gravenberch.
