Liverpool have entered talks to sign a wonderkid - but they're not alone. This one could move very quickly.

The transfer window has been open for a couple of weeks now and Liverpool are yet to make any major moves. That's despite Marc Guehi, a target for all of 2025, clearly being available.

He's off to Manchester City, however. Liverpool must move onto other options or simply leave their first-team squad as it is.

What they have done is move for young players. The Reds have essentially signed three young defenders to slot into their Under 21s - even if a couple must wait to turn 18 before formally arriving.

But there's considerable hype around the likes of Ifeanyi Ndukwe. Liverpool aren't stopping there, either - they're eager to snap up more of the best young players around.

Liverpool enter talks for Yisa Alao

Football Insider claim Liverpool are in talks for Sheffield Wednesday youngster Yisa Alao. The left-back is still only 17 but attracting plenty of interest, with Manchester United also in talks to sign him.

Liverpool have consistently looked to sign the best up-and-coming talent British possible in recent years. Kaide Gordon, Ben Doak, Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha are fine examples of just that.

Alao appears to be cut from similar cloth - someone making senior appearances at a very young age and looking destined for the top level. Liverpool and United both hope to take advantage of Wednesday’s financial situation to snap such a talent up.

Wednesday will almost certainly get relegated this season, making Alao’s departure pretty much inevitable. Now it’s just a matter of who can tempt both the club and player first.

Liverpool will certainly fancy their chances of doing just that. Alao may well be the latest in a long line of wonderkid signings.
