Liverpool could repeat a successful transfer trick with record breaker

Liverpool's recruitment has always been fairly special.

Back when Jurgen Klopp was in charge, the Reds unearthed some gems such as Mohamed Salah and even Roberto Firmino.

Neither of those deals broke the bank either which is why everyone was envious of the Reds' dealings.

However, with how much football has changed over the last couple of years, not only have transfer fees gone up but, deals for those sorts of players just don't really pop up anymore.

But, one thing that has rarely failed is clubs buying players with massive potential to fill.

By doing this, teams can invest while players are young and will hope that they meet their potential.

Indeed, this doesn't always work but, for a team such as Liverpool, they often have enough people among their ranks to help make situations like this work out more often.

And now, one of those deals could be about to present itself again.

Roony Bardghi is on the 'verge' of exiting Barcelona

A couple of years ago, Roony Bardghji was seen as the next big player to emerge from Sweden.

The attacker broke FC Copenhagen's record for their youngest debutant ever after he featured for the Danish club at just 16 years and six days old.

From that point on, whether it was on football manager or in real life, everyone knew about him.

During his time with Copenhagen, the Sweden international played in 84 games and contributed to 16 goals across all competitions.

Everything was building up to an impressive season during the 2024-25 campaign but, thanks to a torn ACL, the wonderkid was kept out of action for almost a year.

This led to him not wanting to agree a new deal with Copenhagen and ended up with him being bought by Barcelona for around £2 million.

At the time, this was seen as a steal but now, as per a fresh update from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, it seems like Bardghji's time at the Camp Nou is already over.

"As revealed, and now officially confirmed: Roony Bardghji is on the verge of leaving FC Barcelona," he wrote.

"The clear plan has been in place for weeks. There are multiple enquiries, with talks ongoing.

"Several Bundesliga clubs are also keen."

At the moment, Liverpool's attack is one of the worst areas of their squad.

The Reds still have a lot of work to do if they want to be seen as genuine title challengers this season.

Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye are both edging closer to a switch but, just in case those deals don't work out, other options need to be explored.

That's why Bardghji could be a good place for Liverpool to start. The attacker is still only 20 years old and, even though he only bagged two goals last season, it's clear that there is still a talented player within him.

Since Barcelona didn't spend that much on him, they probably wouldn't demand much money to let him go either.

Bardghji is also a natural right-winger so, even if someone such as Barcola was brought in, there would still be room for the youngster in Iraola's plans.

When Liverpool bought Luis Diaz from FC Porto, the Colombian wasn't a world beater and only got better after joining Liverpool.

Diaz also cost Liverpool a much smaller amount of money than many thought he would which is another similar link with Bardghji's case.

In the past, Bardghji has been dubbed a "perfect" player and all that needs to happen is for someone to unearth that.

And, with Iraola at the helm and Liverpool's past history of improving attackers, it feels like they're a match made in heaven.
