Liverpool star forward ready to QUIT after disappointing contract offer
Liverpool have got a number of contract issues to sort and they need to do so pretty fast.
Mohamed Salah rocked the world of football last week by revealing that the Reds STILL hadn’t formalised an offer over a new deal, leading to increased speculation that he could be destined to depart once his current terms expire in 2025.

The future of Trent Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, looks increasingly uncertain amid reports of Real Madrid’s interest. He too is out of contract at the end of the season.
Helpfully for the Reds it appears the renewal of captain Virgil van Dijk looks all but a formality. The 33-year-old Dutchman is now set to pledge his future to Arne Slot’s side.
Beyond the big three who are all out of contract next summer however there are further problems for sporting director Richard Hughes to consider.
Diaz contract DOUBTS
One such issue surrounds Luis Diaz, who joined the club from Porto in January 2022. Unusually for a Liverpool starter, Diaz remains on the SAME contract terms that he signed when moving from the Portuguese giants almost three years after joining.
It’s understood that the Colombia winger is one of the lowest-paid senior stars in Arne Slot’s squad, with his current deal expiring in 2027. Diaz would like a renewal to reflect his status within the squad with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona reportedly waiting to pounce should talks falter.
And the latest reports in Colombia do not present a pretty picture over the 27-year-old’s renewal. Antena 2 states there is ‘uncertainty’ over Diaz’s future at the club despite having more than two years left on his contract.
Diaz talks STALL
It’s reported that there are ‘disagreements’ over what kind of pay-rise Diaz can expect as well as other contract conditions. The Colombian media outlet also states that talks over a new deal have STALLED since Arne Slot arrived at the club in summer, despite the fact that Diaz has established himself as one of the Dutchman’s key figures.
Interested parties such as PSG and Barca may well strike, with the Ligue 1 side still looking for a big-time replacement for Kylian Mbappe. Barca, meanwhile, were looking to land a new winger last summer but had to cut their cloth accordingly in light of financial fair play regulations.
It’s claimed that next summer could be ‘decisive’ for Diaz’s future. Liverpool could well opt to cash in on Diaz considering their massive losses and a potential need to strengthen in defence and midfield.
