There's an exciting wonderkid who Liverpool are preparing for the first-team right now.

Arne Slot may be slightly more conservative when it comes to throwing young players in at the deep-end in comparison to Jurgen Klopp, but the Dutchman is still open to working with youth.

A great example of this is the way Rio Ngumoha has been integrated into the first-team this season. Slot has high expectations and in order to meet those expectations, young players have to rise to the challenge and the demands of his style of football.

Ngumoha has spent the last year training with the first-team and proving to Slot that he is good enough to be competing for minutes on the pitch.

In the end, it was the five goal contributions in five pre-season games that will have swung the balance in his favour and he justified Slot's decision to promote him with a dramatic winner against Newcastle United.

Ngumoha's example is one many from Liverpool's academy will hope to follow.

There's plenty of talent looking to make a breakthrough beneath him in the ranks. Trey Nyoni and Jayden Danns will be hoping to be next.

Joshua Abe and Erik Farkas are very highly thought of as well.

And there's another name to keep an eye on in La'More Lee Forrester who has been catching the eye of the club's academy coaches for quite a while.

At just 15-years, one month and nine days old, he became the second youngest player ever to play for Liverpool's U18 side all the way back in 2023.

He picked up a serious injury after that which means he was only really able to properly return to the U18 side this season but he's started the campaign very brightly so far.

Forrester has h three goals in five games and has averaged a goal every 97 minutes for the young Reds. At the same time, he also hit a hat-trick and registered two assists against Aston Villa in the U17 Premier League Cup.

We've written an in-depth profile about him here, and now he's become a topic of interest at The Guardian as well.

The publication has released their list of 20 young players to watch from every Premier League side in 2025 and Forrester was the pick for Liverpool.

The report claimed that he could be the next gifted winger to breakthrough the ranks at Anfield and highlighted his speed.

According to the report: 'Academy coaches are working on harnessing his pace to maximum effect on the pitch.'

This is an exciting revelation. Clearly, Liverpool have high hopes for Forrester and they are working on helping him get to the first-team.

He's definitely a name to keep an eye on.
