Arne Slot will drop Liverpool star who is the Reds' BIGGEST problem
One Liverpool player simply has to be dropped after his recent performances.
It's back-to-back defeats for Arne Slot and the Reds. The Dutchman's tenure has never faced such a challenging time as this.
Liverpool are top of the Premier League table, and still have a lot of time to turn things around in the Champions League.
But you can't help and feel as though there are cracks under the surface that are being exposed by the defeats to Galatasaray and Crystal Palace.
Cracks that were masked by stunning late winners in the club's previous games leading up to this point.
The truth is Liverpool's system just hasn't quite been good enough. For one reason or another the team isn't clicking and defensively look very vulnerable.
This is on Slot. He's the head-coach in charge and he's tasked with coming up with a system that gets the best out of everyone.
Right now he's failing in this mission. But not every single blame should fall on Slot alone.
Some of his players are letting him down, too. Including someone who was one of his most important stars last season but who now looks certain to be dropped.
Why Ibrahima Konate must be dropped
On his day, the French international is one of the best centre-backs in the world. Konate has proven he's the perfect partner alongside Virgil van Dijk.
However, he is struggling at the moment. Konate looks vulnerable defensively, and he looks sloppy in possession as well.
His latest mishap led to Alisson needing to rush out of his goal and inadvertently injuring himself for who knows how long.
Konate is simply a liability at the moment and he's the Reds' biggest problem defensively with Liverpool conceding the vast majority of their goals from his side.
Galatasaray very clearly targeted him on Tuesday night, which doesn't bode well for him, and it's clear Slot needs to change things up in order to fix the Reds' defensive vulnerabilities.
With the contract situation looming over Konate's head after he still hasn't extended his deal with less than a year to go and Real Madrid in pursuit, it feels like all the distractions are getting in the way.
It's also important to mention that Konate has played a lot of games recently. All of that will be having a toll on him as well.
Which is why it looks like Slot will drop him for Liverpool's trip to Stamford Bridge at the weekend.
The Dutchman is going to make changes, and with Joe Gomez having not been used much this season, he looks like a candidate who could come in to give Konate respite.
